THANK YOU, COALVILLE! ❀️

What an incredible first day! We honestly didn’t expect such a busy opening and we would like to say a huge thank you for your patience, especially during the queues this morning. πŸ₯ΉπŸ’š

We know everything wasn’t perfect, so a few quick updates:

Our barcode scanner only arrived this afternoon, which meant that for the first part of the day we had to enter products manually at the till πŸ˜¬πŸ˜… Thankfully, it’s now here and working β€” so no more typing every product in by hand! πŸŽ‰

We also know that there were no price labels on the shelves this morning. Please don’t worry β€” we are absolutely not trying to hide our prices! πŸ˜… We simply didn’t have enough time to finish everything before opening. For several reasons we wanted, and needed, to open the shop as soon as possible. We already started adding more price labels today and we plan to finish printing and displaying them tomorrow.

One more important thing: at the beginning of the day, our till was printing card payment receipts instead of full itemised receipts. Unfortunately, I only noticed this after some time. πŸ˜• If you received a receipt showing only your card payment and not the list of products and full transaction total, I’m very sorry. Please feel free to come back to the shop tomorrow and I can print your full receipt for you. I will only need the approximate time of your purchase and the approximate amount, so I can find the transaction in the system.

Thank you again for your patience, understanding and for giving us such an amazing welcome today. πŸ’š

Day one done β€” and tomorrow we’ll be a little more organised! πŸ‘‰πŸ‘ˆ πŸ˜…

⏰ 1 DAY TO GO! πŸ’š

Tomorrow at 10:00 AM, the doors of Kajtek Grocery Coalville will finally open! πŸŽ‰

We won't pretend everything is perfect just yet. Some finishing touches are still to come (including our outside signage 🫣), and over the last few weeks we've faced more unexpected challenges than we could have imagined. πŸ˜…

But along the way, we've also experienced an incredible amount of kindness.

Friends and family have given us countless hours of their time, and even complete strangers have stopped to help β€” including a passer-by who saw us struggling with a huge fridge and simply came over to help us get it inside. 🫢

There have been so many moments like this, and we're genuinely grateful to everyone who has helped, encouraged us or simply stopped to wish us good luck. πŸ’š

Today we're giving it everything we've got to get as much ready as possible.

It might not be 100% perfect tomorrow.
There will still be a few finishing touches to come.

But the shelves will be full, the doors will be open, and Kajtek Grocery Coalville will finally be here. πŸ₯ΉπŸ’š

πŸ’š ONLY 7 DAYS TO GO! πŸ’š

This time next week, Kajtek Grocery Coalville will be OPEN! πŸ₯³

As the final preparations for opening day are underway, there’s one important question… πŸ‘€

What are you missing in the local shops around Coalville? πŸ€”

Is there a particular product, brand or food that’s difficult to find locally? Polish, Romanian, Ukrainian, Lithuanian, Slovak, Czech β€” or anything else from around Europe. πŸ‡΅πŸ‡±πŸ‡·πŸ‡΄πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦πŸ‡±πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡ΈπŸ‡°πŸ‡¨πŸ‡Ώ

Let me know in the comments please πŸ‘‡

Product names, brands and even photos are welcome. πŸ“Έ

Every suggestion will be considered, and wherever possible, I will try to get it on the shelves. πŸ’š
