Title: Shop Supervisor
Report To: Manager
Salary: Β£24,375
Hours: 37.50 hours per week over 5 days, within a 7-day shift rota
Supervision/Line Management Of: Up to 6 Shopkeepers/Store Assistants (shared responsibility with another Retail Supervisor)
Duties:
Overseeing Shopkeepers: Manage and direct all shopkeepers, ensuring they follow store guidelines and meet performance expectations.
Managing Staff Rota: Create and organize staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage during operating hours and manage time-off requests effectively.
Sales Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of sales transactions, monitor sales trends, and analyze data to identify opportunities for improvement.
Purchasing and Finances: Handle procurement processes, track inventory levels, manage budgets, and oversee financial activities to optimize profitability.
Quality Control: Monitor the quality of products and services offered in the store, implement quality assurance procedures, and address any issues promptly.
Retail Staff Evaluation: Assess the job performance of retail staff, provide feedback, and identify areas for development to enhance team efficiency.
Excellent Communication Skills: Demonstrate effective communication with team members, customers, and suppliers to ensure clear understanding and collaboration.
Leadership Abilities: Lead by example, guide and motivate staff, foster teamwork, and create a positive work environment to achieve common goals.
Customer Service Passion: Have a genuine interest in delivering exceptional customer service, address customer needs and concerns, and maintain a positive shopping experience.
Responsibilities:
Supervise shopkeepers, cashiers, shelf stockers, and other employees.
Assist the manager with financial management and annual budget preparation.
Keep records of expenditures, sales figures, invoices, and employee performance.
Evaluate stock supply, availability, and profit margins.
Implement measures to prevent stock damages, theft, and wastage.
Monitor shelf stocks, product displays, and store appearance.
Open and close the store, and hand over responsibilities as needed.
Provide emergency coverage for shopkeeper shifts and support with sales, shelving, and cleaning tasks.
Research market trends and suggest customer-appealing products.
Address customer requests, comments, and complaints.
Motivate employees to reach targets.
Create product lists, place orders, and visit suppliers.
Maintain relationships with suppliers, customers, and staff.
Train new staff and organize shift schedules.
