Some of you will by now, be aware that I will be completing the sale of Oakleys Spar and the Post Office at the beginning of August and transferring the business to Chandra and his family.
After 43 years at the shop, I have decided to try and adopt a quieter lifestyle and enjoy a more relaxed time (well, that's the plan!).
You may see Chandra and his family in the shop over the coming weeks, whilst they learn 'the ropes', to hopefully make the transition as smooth as possible.
The existing staff will remain and will be giving Chandra and his family their full support. Trading hours will remain the same too - 6.30am to 8pm everyday.
The last 43 years have seen many changes and I have very much enjoyed my years here and being part of an amazing community.
I know that I am going to miss seeing customers - most of whom, I consider friends - and it has been a difficult, but I think correct, decision to make.
I would like to thank everyone for your support, loyalties and custom and hope that you will transfer this to Chandra and his family, who are looking forward to meeting you all.

The Post Office will be open

Snowy Conditions

We have not received our bread deliveries for 2 days but hope (being the operative word) that we will receive supplies tomorrow. We have ordered extra.

Milk and eggs are running out fast but should also be in again tomorrow assuming that our delivery can get to us.
