Warning: my photo does not do this justice. But I had to share this absolutely stunning painting we were given today — it genuinely left us speechless (which is saying something)!

Running a village shop can be chaotic, exhausting and relentless at times, but moments like this make it all worthwhile. To have one of our lovely and incredibly talented customers, Shaun B Keefe, see the shop in such a warm and thoughtful way was really quite special.

The artwork itself is stunning, but the written reflection alongside it completely stopped us in our tracks.

“Something deeply human in the rhythm of it, in being known, and knowing others.”

That line especially chimes with the thrum of our village beat.

We’re still smiling every time we look at it. It’s such a lovely reminder that people really do value the small things, the personal touches and the sense of community that village shops are all about.

Thank you Shaun, truly, for creating something so thoughtful, beautiful and personal. We will treasure it.

🔥 Hot Cross Bun season has begun… 🔥

These stunning hot cross buns from Oxford’s Bakery have just landed in the shop.

Soft, fruity and absolutely dangerous when toasted with a generous slab of butter.

We’ll have them every day until Easter…

the question is — when will your resolve crack?

Available individually or by the box in the shop.

If you’d like to be organised (or just make sure nobody else gets them first 😏),
let us know the day before and we’ll set some aside ready for collection first thing the following morning.

💐🪷Mother’s Day Flowers Have Arrived!
Sarah was up early this morning after our Bristol Market flower delivery, turning fresh buckets of flowers into these beautiful bouquets.
All pre-orders are now ready for collection from the shop.
We do still have a few large bouquets available (£15) for anyone who may have left things until the last minute… we promise not to tell Mum.

Sarah has been busy making some beautiful fresh bouquets for the shop this week and they have just arrived.
We’re introducing a larger hand-tied bouquet for £15 alongside our usual £8.95 bouquets, perfect if you’d like something a little extra special for Mother’s Day.
We’ll have fresh flowers in all week, but we’re also taking pre-orders for collection next weekend so you can make sure you don’t miss out.
