B&M are proud to announce that we’ve been awarded the Silver Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Award from the Ministry of Defence in recognition of our ongoing commitment to the Armed Forces Community!
Since signing the Armed Forces Covenant in July 2024, we’ve pledged to;
• Guarantee interviews to all ex-military service personnel applying for roles
• Provide ongoing support to reservists and cadet corps volunteers across the UK
We also guarantee continued employment to colleagues required to relocate due to their partner’s military deployment, helping keep families together during times of transition alongside contributing to veterans’ HQ charity Northwest.
Ex-Royal Navy Officer, Michael Deans, is a shining example of how B&M has made a difference to his life. Serving in the Falkland War, he worked up through the ranks, eventually receiving promotion to Warrant Officer, holding this until 1995 alongside receiving an MBE.
“After leaving the Navy, I found myself at a crossroads. I wasn’t entirely sure what direction I wanted to take in my career. That’s when I came across an opportunity with B&M and decided to take the leap.”
