Next weekend I’ll be joining some of my colleagues from the Central Fife Artists’ Collective at a pop up in Kirkcaldy Museum and Art Gallery. I’m bringing my prints back for this event, which I guess is one of the perks of working for myself. It means I can change my mind and I heavily lean into this.🫣😆 I’ll also be bringing along some paintings including ‘The Patriarchy’s Dead Loud’, a painting of Donna Ashworth’s poem titled ‘Woman, Mighty, Proud’ this is one of the works painted at the Brewing Art Residency in late summer.
I’m looking forward to sharing the space with the artists, staff and some of you.🤞We will be situated to the left of the Gálle Wemyss Cat at the main entrance. The friends of Kirkcaldy Galleries successfully bid on the cat at last weekends auction. It’ll be great to see it inside its rightful forever home. The cats collectively raised £100,000 for the Kirkcaldy lottery and I am proud to have been involved in what was Kirkcaldy’s biggest outdoor art event. I will also have a selection of prints that I based my cat ‘Asparagus Misfit’ on, some new prints and some ex display work too.
If anyone has seen Gus around please let me know as I have no clue and wondering if the new owners know how much he likes a wee tickle under his chin.😻
