📦 A SMALL REQUEST FROM YOUR LOCAL VILLAGE SHOP ❤️
As many of you will know, parcel services have become a huge part of what we offer here at Read Village Store.
What many people probably don’t realise is that we are paid a small amount for every parcel that is dropped off or collected from our shop. Individually, it isn’t a lot — but the volume of parcels we handle really does add up and makes a genuine difference to the viability of our small village store.
Parcel lockers operate very differently. With some locker arrangements, the site provider receives an agreed annual payment for hosting the lockers, regardless of how many parcels pass through them. For us, every single parcel transaction counts.
Your parcel might only take 30 seconds to collect or drop off, but that visit helps create vital footfall through our doors. It helps us employ local people, pay the ever-increasing costs of running a small shop and, most importantly, helps keep a convenience store open in a village with a relatively small population.
We completely understand that convenience is important and everyone has a choice. We would simply ask that, where you can, please continue to choose Read Village Store for your parcel collections and drop-offs. 📦
