Celebrating our Kings Award for Voluntary Services, Fran and Brian attended a garden party at Buckingham Palace on behalf of all our volunteers… what a fabulous day, we were all there in spirit 🥂🥂

We are getting ready to celebrate! Join us here in the garden on 24th May from 10.30 for fizz and nibbles with the Lord Lieutenant of Gloucestershire who will be presenting us with The King’s Award for Voluntary Service. In the meantime, come and tell us what you like about your favourite community shop. 🍾🥂

We are delighted to announce that the Lord Lieutenant of Gloucestershire will be visiting the shop to present the volunteers with the formal award for The King’s Award for Voluntary Services (KAVS). This will include a letter signed by the King. We want this to be a community celebration so please come along to celebrate with us.

Today, our volunteer group has been awarded the Kings Award for Voluntary Service - the MBE for volunteer groups.

What an honour, and recognition of the value our wonderful team brings to our community.

We collect change regularly for a number of charities. One of them, BRACE, just sent us this lovely thank you -
“Good morning, I'm the Community Fundraiser for BRACE Dementia Research. One of your volunteers, Margaret Stennard, is a long term supporter of BRACE and brought in the collection pot from the shop. Having counted it this morning, it contained £41.54 which is a great amount. I thought you might like to post it on your FB page.
