Alpha Bottle Shop & Tap is an exciting new venture which has been built upon the foundations of many years hard work, a vision for the future of the hospitality & retail industries and ultimately a love for great beer and quality independent products. In May 2021 we opened the doors to our newly refurbished premises on East Street, providing a one stop shop for the highest quality, most exciting r

ange of craft beers on offer both from the UK and further afield. We fiercely support independent companies and are proud to be one of the few retailers in the country offering 100% refrigerated storage of our beers. Alpha also offers a specially curated list of amazing ciders, local spirits, natural wines & delicious snacks to accompany them. We offer the option to take away, click and collect from our webshop, have orders delivered to your door or you can sit in and enjoy a freshly poured draught beer in a cosy, casual and welcoming setting. SO JOIN US FOR ANOTHER NIGHT OF STUPIDITY? as we delve into the wonderful World of crisps and crispy lagers once more 😘

No quite sure what we’re talking about? Well read on...

We’ll be pairing FIVE EXCEPTIONAL LAGERS from some of best lager producers around with FIVE BASIC (YET DELICIOUS) CRISPY SNACKS from some of the biggest crisp manufacturers (and just when you thought we didn’t support macros 🤣)

Come for the lagers, come for the crisps, or come to see us struggle our way through pairing the flavour profiles of a Pringle and Keller Pils.. 💁🏻‍♂️

🎟️ As a small venue, tickets are extremely limited and we expect them to sell out fast. So get them quick either way & if you can’t make it, please let us know as soon as possible. We’ll give refunds for 7 days notice and if later, we will do everything we can to sell your ticket on 🎟️

Resident Alpha Comedy host brings a ‘work in progress’ preview of his upcoming Edinburgh Fringe show ‘Man of Few Words’. Expect joke-packed routines on life, death and football, delivered with a deceptively charming and laid back stage presence, from a finalist in Stand Up For Cider and Philly Cup New Act competitions, and Bristol Comedy Chest Audience Vote winner.

& .comic , two memorable new comedians based in Bristol are performing in Edinburgh for the first time, delivering an hour of stand up comedy about their lives and their (very different) dads. They’ll make you laugh and slightly pull at your heartstrings.

Have you tried our 4th Birthday Beer yet? Brewed with our good friends this New England Pale Ale is soft, juicy and very moreish. We love it! We have the last keg hooked up and once that’s gone it’s gone!

We had a great little tap takeover on our outside bar last weekend for the and we still have some cracking Polly’s cans in stock including a beautiful fudge stout and some big hop drenched IPAs! Pop in to try some of the range, they won’t stick about long!
