💙 COMMUNITY SPIRIT AT ITS BEST! 💙
A lovely shout-out to our deli manager Karen, who went above and beyond to support the fantastic team at Team HAVEN and their Monday night outreach.
Karen kindly prepared a delicious pot of homemade stew for the team to serve to those experiencing homelessness on the streets of Belfast. With a bitter chill in the air and 65 callers through the doors, those hot meals were very much appreciated! 🥰
At Eurospar Shankill, we’re proud to play our part in supporting our local community. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Team HAVEN and helping them provide vital support, kindness and a warm welcome to those who need it most.
A big well done to Karen, Team HAVEN and all the wonderful volunteers who make such a difference every week.

Outreach Update ~ Monday 2nd November 2026
There was a real chill in the air tonight with our usual large Monday queue waiting not so patiently for us! We hit the ground running as soon as we were set up, with a big rush on the hot meals and warm drinks.
We had 65 callers, as well as some latecomers who were directed to the other homeless services in King Street and Tomb Street. The Welcome Outreach were also on the ground tonight, and kindly dropped one of our regulars to his hostel accommodation.
On tonight’s menu we had a choice of chicken curry with rice or loaded fries from Paula, or delicious stew which was freshly made by Karen who is the deli manager in our local Eurospar (pictured below). Stewart, Dona, Raymond & Peggy all made sandwiches which were served along with snackpacks, yogurts, fruit, and biscuits, as well as what felt like gallons of tea and coffee! Everything went down a treat and was gratefully received.

Karen from Eurospar Shankill for the fabulous donation of stew which she very kindly made for our callers this evening. Thanks also to Glen who organised vouchers for us to spend in the store on Foodbank and outreach supplies
Kathleen Mortimer who was visiting the city with her friends, and dropped off a very generous donation of £35.
Liz, Mairead, and the team at Belfast Homeless Services for their donation of supplies for our Foodbank.
Raymond, Peggy, and Josie, who work away in the background making up snackpacks for all our teams.
Ruth and Terry for dropping off another fab donation of foodbank supplies, and fruit for tonight’s table, as well as food for our four legged friends.
