I'm sure that many of you have heard the news already. Last night we had a fire in Kevin Óg's.
No one was hurt but there was a bit of damage towards the front of the shop and extensive smoke damage throughout. The fire was accidental.

Firstly I'd like to thank all who helped last night. Spotting the fire, calling the fire brigade, volunteering fire extinguishers, offering tea, whiskey and comfort, boarding the shop and making it secure and off course the fire brigade themselves.It was a true community effort.

Special thanks goes to Marty and the other staff at the Lobster Pot. Who broke down the door,
fought the fire and prevented what would have been a much larger blaze.

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH

As for what's next: Today and tomorrow we will be selling the newspapers only from the premises on the weighbridge which used to be Rosie's barbers (Thanks to Gary Laverty for this and securing the shop last night)

We will be open 8.30am-1pm

Kevin Óg's today was invaded by a collection of ghosts, ghouls and even the odd famous footballer for trick or treating. Fantastic costumes. Thank you to the staff and extremely polite pupils of St. Joseph's primary school, Strangford for livening up a quiet morning.

We are delighted to announce a Christmas Hi-jack of Kevin Óg's on the weekend of Friday 14th-Sun 16th of November by Elizabeth Jorn. Elizabeth is an exceptional local artist in a variety of mediums and her work will be available for sale all weekend. It will be the perfect opportunity to purchase that special present or even some beautifully crafted Strangford Christmas cards.
There will be complimentary mulled wine and song on Friday between 7pm and 9pm.
