This Month in Direct Wine Shipments we are taking part in the campaign to celebrate this incredible regions wines!

There is no better region for terroir focused wines, from mother nature's fierce winters to intense summer heat. has a mixed terrain of stone, limestone and clay soil each bringing their own identity to the wines of the region.

We sampled these wonderful examples today.

1) Cuarenta Vendimias Ribera del Duero 2020.
Packed with black cherry and plum notes on nose with an underlying notes of Dark chocolate and baking spice. Beautiful balance of acid and grippy tannin, full of depth and flavour. Excellent value for money.

2) Reserva 2021
Super intensity on the nose with a vibrant blend of ripe black fruits and small hedgerow fruit. Showing lots of intense secondary aromas such as liquorice, clove, cinnamon. True RRD style full of power and concentration. Well rounded tannins beautifully balanced between warming alcohol and mouth watering acid. just fabulous.

3) El Espino 2021
Considered the New, contemporary style of Ribera del Duero” Intense ruby colour like the Reserva it stands out for its intensity, leading again with notes of forest fruits, redcurrant, cranberries, and plum, ground coffee and liquorice, fresh, balanced with soft and delicate tannins. all the power and precision but more elegance. Effortlessly graceful, highly recommend.

4) Alion 2020
Powerful deep ruby in colour with spashes of blue/purple on the rim. A baby still. But wow that nose. Crushed blackberry, blueberry, sweet cherry liqueur subtle hints of berry coulis flowing into sweet spices and crushed stone. On the palate a tsunami of flavours battering you with exceptional purity. Long, textured and free flowing finish. Some wines are better tasted for yourself as a description does it a disservice.
