The Strong Waddler is the smoothest, most sophisticated duck ever to grace the River Dee. Raised among the polished bottles and warm wooden shelves of The Strong Water Co.’s Ballater whisky shop, he developed a refined palate long before he learned to paddle.

See the Strong Waddler bring the power at 3pm on Sunday 7th June. Come along from 11am on The Greens for stalls, food, crafts and kids’ rides — then have a flutter on the tote and back the duck who trains like a champion.

Been wondering about the miso and slow sauce ( shoyu) we’ve got in the shops? Well below is a top recipe I had tonight and Slow Sauce really elevated the dish!

Asian-style pork rice bowl

Diced pork fried hard for loads of caramelisation, then glazed with:
– oat miso - a teaspoon
– shoyu - a good splash
– sake & mirin - a good splash

Served over buttery shoyu rice with fried mangetout, tenderstem broccoli, chilli, garlic & ginger on the side 🥦🌶️🧄

Perfect comfort food.
