Our trip back to the 80s sparked some brilliant memories – and we loved seeing your own SPAR throwbacks appearing in the comments! 📸💚

As we celebrate 70 years of SPAR in the UK, it feels like the perfect time to share a few of them.

A huge thank you to Nick for sharing photos from his family’s incredible 44 years running SPAR stores in Durrington and Boscombe Down, to Nykki for this brilliant holiday snap outside a SPAR in Austria in the 80s, and to SPAR Ballingarry for sharing a fantastic throwback of their store.

70 years means a lot of memories – and we love hearing the stories behind them. 💚

Thanks to everyone who shared a little piece of SPAR history with us.

This is just a post to recognise an act of kindness from a young fella from our village 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Yesterday around lunchtime Theo was in the shop and when he approached the counter he said to the member of staff that was serving him " If you were to pick a packet of sweets from the wee 50p bags which one would be your favourite?"
The member of staff said straight away "oh definitely the watermelons 🍉🍉" Theo made his way over to the sweets,he went along the rows to find the watermelon sweeties and brought a packet over to pay for. He continued to pay for his items and the watermelon sweets and as he left the counter he gave our member of staff the sweets.
As you can imagine this caused a tear in the recipients eye and also the other customers standing in the queue waiting to pay😭I'm sureTheo's parents are very proud of their kind thoughtful young boy. It really is so good to see random acts of kindness and especially from such a young wee man 💙
