Yes I managed to squeeze a swim in before opening up for you lovely lot at 11. The lake foreshore is heavjng, but if you walk or cycle there are plenty of little beaches you dont have to share 😍. Shop is relatively cool…. Counting blessings.

Swift half - ❤️🙌🙌. Huge thanks to Ben . Great turnout and such an enjoyable walk and talk.

Here’s what I have learnt about Swifts:
Their numbers in wales have dropped by 76% in the last few decades 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿. They can live for 20 years and return to the same nest spot every year 🪺. They live in wall crevices high up - If you can see a nest, it’s not a swift. Swifts are ‘no mess’ birds - if there is mess, it’s not a swift! They fly 500km a day and do everything in the air except raise their chicks……. They are all round amazing birds and I’ll be seeing what we can do with nest boxes next time we have scaffolding up (they like to be high). ❤️

A reminder that the ‘Swift Half’ starts in STORI tomorrow …. We start with a quick talk with Ben from the wildlife trust (and a half if desired) before going for wander around Bala to see them in action. We’ll be returning to STORI for last orders ( which will be later than usual for us ‘swifties’.) and another chance for questions with Ben. See you here!
