Hope you guys all know that no matter what is going on in my life or yours I will always be here to help anyone who supported me over these past 5 years and anyone else for that matter.

Been to hell and back these last couple years but luckily with the support of my parents, grand parents best friend Lewis, big cousin Andy and sister Lucy I now find myself in the strongest mindset I’ve been in since I was 19 years old ready to take the world head on.

I can hold my hands up and say I made some mistakes and have done things I’m not proud of in life but I’m doing my best everyday to be a good person and make things right again.

I’m going to be back doing what I love very very soon but this time with the proper team around me.

Haven’t been on here too much recently but I’ll be checking in much more regularly from now on. Anyone who needs help or needs to talk about anything I will be there for you as I know know you will be for me .

You keep the faith, you keep talking, keep listening without judgement or fear of judgment.

You keep the chin up pal because I need you.

We’re all going to win in the end.

Business meeting no longer need to happen in the shop I guess.

Aw man I could get used to these chill days off.

However the grind don’t stop and neither do we so it’s straight back to the depot to get our new layout organised.

We have a new desk area going in tomorrow to allows for impeccable organisation and for a comfy place to meet our lovely suppliers over a cuppa.

Leaflets will be arriving on Thursday so we will be starting the town when we are off from the hotel next week. Hoodies will also be arriving soon. 😁

Expect things to be done a little differently this time around.

Well that’s officially a wrap folks.

4 years 11 months and 2 weeks since first signing my Ocean Stores lease we have pulled the shutter for the final time.

What a journey we have been on these last 5 years. Literally from the highest highest of my life, to the lowest lows and back again.

I have given it everything I possibly could give since opening up. living with that “5%” mentality. Prepared to do whatever the f*** it takes to make this work.

Anyone who knew me growing up will tell you I always said while walking about my family’s hotels… One day I’m going to have own business and be the “bossman”

You guys have allowed me to live my dream dream for the past 5 years and I really can’t express in words how much that means to me.

All I needed was a chance and you gave it to me. Thank you ❤️

I have been through some tough times during the life of the shop but I got through it all with your support. You showed my love in a world where I was struggling to find it myself and gave me a constant safe place to escape the madness of this world. You were my reason to keep pushing everyday no matter what was unceremoniously dumped in our path. For a long time you were all I really had in life.

You have helped mold me from the teenager who opened the shop to the man you see moving on today.

I know I am a better person today then I was 5 years ago and for as long as I live I will always be here to help any of you in any way I can and offer leg up to those who need it.

By no means is this the end for us. We have not gone out of business and we have not run out of money. This is simple the best decision for myself and Lewis to make at this time and it is a new beginning, no where near its end.

Today I move on with my head firmly held high after everything that has been achieved at Ocean Stores.

I gave it my all and I will sleep like a baby knowing that tonight.

I’m only human and I might not always have shown it but I love each and everyone of you from the bottom of my heart. Friends for life all of you.

From the Franks, to the Vivian’s, to the Gordon’s and everyone in between. You know who you are.

Oh and let’s not forget about the staff that have given it there all to serve you in ocean Stores. Past and present we’ve had some laugh and I wouldn’t do it with anyone else.

Especially the 3 special ones Lewis, Lucy and Erin. Legends 💙

The tears are now in full flow as I begging to write this line for the last very time.

A dream actually written down quickly becomes a goal.

That goal broken down into small steps becomes a plan.

When a plan turns into work, dreams become reality.

Our plan won’t be prefect and I’m sure it will need a little bit of tweaking along the way. But for now things are going in our favour and we will enjoy it while we can.

First taste of the new jobs completed today. Lewis and I have always had plans to expand into the hospitality game. With one unsuccessful attempt under our belts we have decided it is time to go back to the roots and get behind the bar to sharpen our skills for the next project.

Ocean Stores is starting to looks pretty empty now guys and we have pulled any stock we are keeping for the delivery service. All remaining stock you see on the shelves will now be 50% off.

Today at Easy Days delivery we had a lovely photographer from the local paper take some snaps of us 🤔 we finalised designs for our new uniforms set to arrived before next weekend and we finalised our first load of 10000 leaflets set to be dropped around your doors mid March.

Slowly but surley we are building our life’s bigger than ever before. One late night finish and McDonald’s diner at a time.

A little introduction to us.

Hi my name is Lewis and this is my business partner also called Lewis.

We are 21 and 24 years old and we are about to enter into our fifth year of business.

Any business owner will tell you “it’s not easy or everyone would be doing it.” After 5 years doing this I understand why this comment is made and our journey has been a similar one.

We will never claim to have done a perfect job and looking back there is a few things I’d like to have done different but we can’t and that’s life and we are moving on with it.

During this time we have turned from immature teenagers to respected young business owners and every single day between has been a learning curve.

With little to no experience Lewis and I have decided to modernise our business and change how we do things entirely.

We will no be an online only delivery service focusing on delivery the best local produce Ayrshire can offer directly to your front door. We have completely rebranded, bought new uniforms and organised leaflets for the first time ever, we with very little experience have built our own website on Shopify to make all this possible.

We have the journey of a lifetime ahead of us. A mountain begging to be conquered, which we will conquer.

We won’t claim to be perfect moving forward however we will promise from the bottom of our hearts to give it our all. Giving the very best effort we can to build our delivery business and serve all those who need it.

I came so close to loosing it all last year. Now I’m back in the healthiest mindset i have been in. Working in the career I have chosen, having a laugh with my best pals along the way.

Everything is going according to plan and life is really starting to look up for us both. Don’t even let anyone tell you hard work will not pay off in the end.

This is day number 1 of posting everyday until we take our business national.

WE ARE CLOSING DOWN 😢

I rememeber being told early in my business career.

“Son, always move with the times or the times will move you.”

My life prior to Ocean Stores is not one I am too proud of and is something I have worked very hard to keep quite.

So I made the very tough decision going again everything everyone else my ages was doing to walk the straight and narrow.

April 4 2019 armed with nothing but my little motorbike, my own 2 hands and an unbreakable determination for success and to show people what I was really capable of I began the 5 year long march into the unknown which has lead me to this point today.

What a journey of many ups and many downs we have had over the years.

I have sweated, working my fingers to the bone, showing up early everyday and working late at night to serve to community. I have bled both for charity and to protect my show. I have cried many really tears for those a customers who are no longer here to see the journey.

I became a man.

I could never have predicted the global pandemic what was going to be so viciously hurled in our direction.

20 years old with 2 options. Either take the easy option out, take money offer my the government and sit at home and do nothing. Or take no help whatsoever but instead stand up to be counted, stand up to serve customer and community. A no brained if ever there was one.

Stand up and be counted and never be temped by the easy option.

You guys may have noticed I have been keeping my life a litter quieter that usual these past few months and this is for good reason.

I have had a lot of thinking to do.

The world around us has changed so much in a short time. Costs have soared, pockets have shrunk and technology have cemented itself in every faucet of society.

Taking all this into account we have decided to close ocean stores to the public from 25 February 2024.

However there is a catch…

We are not saying goodbye to you all just yet. Instead we are rebranding and relaunching a delivery only online grocery service where we will still offer all the same amazing local products we do now.

This will be a partnership between Lewis 2 and myself as I have decided to gift him 25% of my business for the loyalty he has shown over the years.

Between now and our closing date we will update you with every possible detail you need to know about our delivery service.

So this is probably us signing off for the last ever time on the ocean Stores page, so here goes.
