Lochlea - Sangiovese Wine Cask
Single Malt Scotch Whisky - 2026 Release

Lochlea red wine cask release is an annual release inspired by the finishing of the mature spirit in red wine casks. Each year will bring a different expression of red wine finishes, inspired by the casks believed to best compliment the distilleries style. For the second release they have taken the whisky matured in 1st-fill Bourbon barrels, then finished in carefully selected Sangiovese casks.

Finished in first-fill ex-Sangiovese casks, the result is a sweet, velvety dram with hints of honey and gentle spice, finishing with ripe red berry and moreish nutty notes

Nose: Red Berries, Baked Apples, notes of Honey and gentle spice

Palate: Sweet, creamy with plenty of red berryand nutty notes.

Finish: Gentle spice and pleasant oakiness.

WHISKY X CHEESE OF THE MONTH 🧀🥃

Montagnolo Affine
 
Montagnolo is a premium, triple cream blue cheese produced in the Allgau region of Bavaria, Germany. An area where dairy farming has a tradition dating back over 300 years. Montagnolo reflects the regions long standing expertise in cheese production by exemplifying the fusion of traditional Bavarian dairy craftsmanship with modern cheese making techniques. The resulting cheese has a natural grey edible exterior contrasting a pale ivory internal paste mottled by fine blue/green veining. This is accompanied by flavours of cream and butter with a delicate blue tang that never overwhelms. Montagnolo is a highly accessible cheese, made from pasteurised milk it is gluten free, suitable for vegetarians and classed as lactose free due to the maturation process as it ripens slowly at low temperatures. A perfect pairing with fresh crusty bread. Equally delicious on your cheeseboard with crisps crackers and a soft sweet fruit chutney of your choice

Laphroaig 10 Year Old Sherry Oak Finish

It’s true that blue cheese is an acquired taste, but those who enjoy it enough will reap all the benefits of this pairing made in heaven. 
 
That’s where peated whiskies, especially from Islay, step in, with layers of smoke and in this instance a sherry influence.
 
This classic Islay Dram aged in ex-Bourbon barrels and European Oloroso sherry oak casks is a perfect match for Montagnolo triple cream blue cheese. We really enjoyed the creamy subtle blue tang of the Montagnolo with the balanced flavour of this Laphroaig.

Ardnamurchan Tokaji Cask Release Peated 2026 Single Malt Scotch Whisky

The distillery team chose 28 unpeated bourbon barrels originally filled in 2018 and re-racked them into lovely Tokaji casks sourced directly from Hungary. Just over 2 years later, they have released a luscious, funky, and vibrant 8-year-old Tokaji-finished Ardnamurchan single malt!

Colour : Acacia Honey

Nose: Fresh pear and green apples, bamboo, cornflakes, sandalwood,sour apple sweets, baked banana. Bright combination of floral and funky.

Palate: Sugared almonds, nashi pear, sweet & salty popcorn, white pepper and mace, lemon pith, candied ginger, rose petals and pine wood.

Finish: Saline, spicy, balanced.

This 28 Year Old Single Malt has came from one single bourbon barrel deeming only 134 bottles.

The balance of this whisky is a true testament to the harmony between the distillery’s character and a finely selected bourbon cask, working together in perfect synergy. Over 28 years of maturation, this partnership has evolved beautifully, revealing a rich and inviting profile of ripe banana layered with smooth milk chocolate notes. The experience is rounded off with a luxuriously oily finish, where lingering hints of Brazil nut add depth and sophistication.

Tartan Army North British 27 Year Old Single Grain Scotch Whisky - 1998 Vintage

This 27 Year Old Single Grain has came from one single bourbon barrel deeming only 220 bottles.

Distilled 10th June 1998, the very day Scotland played Brazil in the opening game of the 1998 finals in France.

A beautifully poised balance between distillery character and cask influence, where rich toffee and golden caramel from the wood are seamlessly interwoven with a subtle lift of tropical fruit, bringing brightness and elegance to the whisky’s depth.

This North British 27 Year Old Single Grain has came from one single bourbon barrel deeming only 220 bottles.

Distilled 10th June 1998, the very day Scotland played Brazil in the opening game of the 1998 finals in France.

A beautifully poised balance between distillery character and cask influence, where rich toffee and golden caramel from the wood are seamlessly interwoven with a subtle lift of tropical fruit, bringing brightness and elegance to the whisky’s depth.

This Tamnavulin 12 Year Old has came from a four cask batch of Hogsheads.

A seamless union of distillery character and gentle cask influence, where classic Speyside notes of ripe orchard fruits and honeyed cereal are softly enriched by hints of vanilla and oak. The result is a whisky of natural balance and clarity, elegant, rounded, and true to its origins.

Longrow 21 Year Old 2023 Release Single Malt Scotch Whisky

35% Bourbon, 65% Sherry.

Nose: There is a savoury note in the introduction to this dram, along with hints of hazelnut and blackcurrants.

Palate: Syrupy sweet yet delicate on the palate, there are notes of fizzy cola bottles and cigar-box smoke.

Finish: A characteristically Longrow finish, reminiscent of shingle beaches, flint and seaweed

Longrow Peated Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Nose: Very creamy, vanilla custard. The smoke develops and toasted marshmallows, herbs and rich fruits appear over time.

Palate: Incredibly well balanced – rich and creamy with a slight medicinal hint. The smoke is always present and washes over the palate in waves.

Finish: The gentle smoke lingers and lingers.
