Two hours east of Lake Garda on the Adriatic coast in Friuli Latisana you will find Lorenzonetto cav Guido. Very busy Cantina on a Friday afternoon with very approachable wines. In particular, some nice Prosecco and easy drinking reds.

No trip to Verona and Lake Garda would be complete without a visit to the Cesari winery in Fumane. Nestled in the foot hills of the Dolomites north of Verona, this is one of our long standing favourites. We tested 3 whites, 3 red and one sweet wine. This is classic Valpolicella with an excellent Ripasso and Amarone.

Next stop: Cà dei Fratti, in the outskirts of Sirmione, Lake Garda. Set in a beautiful, imposing building, this winery is renowned for excellent wines. We tasted Whites, Rosé, and Reds. Undoubtedly the star of the show was the Amarone. Not to be missed when visiting this area!

Currently in Northern Italy, first stop: CàMaiol, Sirmione, Lake Garda. Superb winery offering a wide selection of wines. Particularly enjoyed this easy-drinking Negresco. A red cuvee of Groppello, Marzemino, Sangiovese, and Barbera.
