Five generations in Cheverny: meet our w**emaker of the month for October.

This month, we are shining a light on Domaine Sauger, in Fresnes, in the Loir-et-Cher, in the heart of the Loire Valley.

Founded in 1870, this family estate is now in its fifth generation. Philippe Sauger took it over in 1988 with 7 hectares. Today it covers 30, across the Cheverny and Cour-Cheverny appellations, on sandy-clay and flinty soils. The vineyard is Terra Vitis certified.

What won us over: the precision of the whites, the honesty of the reds, and a family approach built for the long term.

Four cuvées are waiting for you:

Tradition White 2025, the white for long, relaxed aperitifs
Tradition Red 2024, a blend of Pinot Noir, Gamay and Côt for autumn dinners
Vieilles Vignes 2025, the white for special occasions
Des Lys 2023, 100% Romorantin, the rare gem of Cour-Cheverny

Final weekend of our W**e Fair: four cuvées to taste on Friday and Saturday.
For the final weekend of our W**e Fair, we have picked four w**es that take you across three French regions.

La Coccinelle, Château Petit Bocq, 2021. A generous Saint-Estèphe, half Merlot, half Cabernet Sauvignon. Made for red meat, lamb or game.

Le Caillou Red, Clos du Caillou, 2025. An organic Côtes du Rhône led by Grenache, fresh and elegant. Lovely with grilled meats or lamb.

Le Caillou White, Clos du Caillou, 2025. A dry, fruity organic white from 40 to 50-year-old vines. Perfect as an aperitif or with fish.

Quintessence, Château Pesquié, 2024. A barrel-aged organic Ventoux white with a saline finish. Try it with poultry or fish in a creamy sauce.

All four are open at our tasting counter this Friday and Saturday, alongside 900 w**es from our W**e Fair selection, while stocks last.
