Hij komt ... hij komt ... de nieuwe Shilton (Shilton Almeida) komt!

In april kregen we een zeer fijn staal aangeboden waarvan we onmiddellijk zoiets hadden van ... 'dit kan wel eens een mooie Shilton zijn'. Het toeval wil dat Shilton op dat ogenblik onze Glen Moray voor Hotel Fidder - Patrick's Whisky Bar had geproefd op een festival in Nederland en ons had laten weten dat dat een mooie selectie was en dat hij wel fan is van deze distillery.

Glen Moray 2008 sinds eind oktober van dat jaar op een refill cask en sinds maart 2022 overgezet naar een ex Sauternes vat. Op dat ogenblik spreken we van +/- 131 flessen ... we zijn heel benieuwd naar het eind resultaat bij botteling in de komende weken.

De ring is rood, verwijzend naar het ex wijn vat. Geen geel naar het eerste refill vat of een combinatie geel en rood, want dan wordt het een onduidelijk verhaal! Rood dus ... het siert het label en de whisky is zeer lekker!

In de neus hadden wij alvast een hint van sinaas, wat appelcompot, verse narcissen en hyacinten, op de achtergrond wat lavendel, honing meloen en vers geplukte Sémillon druiven.

In de smaak mandarijnen en clementines, abrikozen, verse lycee, Charantes meloen en bloedappelsien.

In de finish overheersen de smaken van oranje citrusvruchten.

Wij zijn alvast fan!

Vanaf de zomer beschikbaar. Oplage nog niet gekend. We bottelen heel het vat.

A 25-year-old Bas-Armagnac distilled in 1998 by Mr. Roumat at Marquestau, made from 100% Baco grapes, aged in a humid cellar, and drawn from cask #225. Only 310 bottles exist.

This is pure liquid gold for collectors and connoisseurs – rich, bold, and deeply expressive. A festival dram you don’t want to miss twice!

Back in stock, a very fine Armagnac.

A truly exceptional bottling at 55.9% ABV, limited to only 250 bottles. This Armagnac Ténarèze is part of the Rare Armagnac Collection by Château de Hontambère and was grown and distilled by the now-closed Domaine Pouchegu.

Aged for 33 years in French oak casks, this spirit offers remarkable depth, robust structure, and complex aromas — a true collector’s item and a tribute to traditional Armagnac craftsmanship.

From the heart of Trinidad’s lost distillery comes one of the most exclusive rum trilogies ever released: Paradise #1, #2, and #3 – all bottled by Velier.

🥃 Paradise #1 – Distilled in 1996, aged 26 years, only 213 bottles. A bold, intense profile with tar, rubber, caramel, and dark chocolate.

🥃 Paradise #2 – Distilled in 1998, aged 24 years, 230 bottles. Balanced yet powerful, with rubber, mint, green apple, and leathery dried fruit notes.
