Benannt nach dem berühmten, tiefdunklen und torfigen See, der die Brennerei überblickt, reifte die Loch Gorm 2026 Edition über 10 Jahre vollständig in Oloroso Sherry Butts. Kilchoman nutzt für ihre Sherry-Reifungen ausschließlich Fässer von der renommierten Bodega José y Miguel Martín, von der auch Glenfarclas ihre berühmten Sherry-Fässer bezieht. Die für den Loch Gorm Release maßgeschneiderten Proportionen aus spanischer und französischer Eiche sowie der einzigartige Reifungsprozess in Jerez ergeben Fässer, die perfekt mit dem Charakter des Kilchoman-Destillats und seiner Reifung auf Islay harmonieren. Das jüngste Oloroso Sherry Butt, in welchem der Loch Gorm reifte, ist 10 Jahre alt und wird mit der diesjährigen Edition prominent auf dem Flaschenlabel präsentiert. Die primäre Reifung in First Fill Sherry Butts bringt einen saftig-süßen und hochintensiven Fruchtcharakter von trockenen Früchten, dunkler Schokolade und reicher Würze hervor, die sich elegant mit dem typischen Kilchoman- Torfrauch und den charakteristischen Zitrusaromen verbinden.

Named after the famous, deep, dark, and peaty lake that overlooks the distillery, the Loch Gorm 2026 Edition was matured for over 10 years exclusively in Oloroso sherry butts. For its sherry maturations, Kilchoman uses only casks from the renowned Bodega José y Miguel Martín, from which Glenfarclas also sources its famous sherry casks. The proportions of Spanish and French oak, tailor-made for the Loch Gorm release, combined with the unique maturation process in Jerez, result in casks that harmonize perfectly with the character of the Kilchoman distillate and its maturation on Islay. The youngest Oloroso sherry butt in which the Loch Gorm matured is 10 years old and is prominently featured on the bottle label for this year’s edition. 🥃🥃
