Xinomavro means "acid-black", and every 1 November the grape gets its own day.

Naoussa, in Northern Greece, is its home appellation: bright acidity, firm tannin. We have one on the shelf, Kokkinos Xinomavro Naoussa. Try it with lamb, a tomato sauce or a hard cheese.
