About the other evening at the Kuala Lumpur Club Macanudo. Great event hosted by the Macanudo Club crew pairing a Poli Cleopatra Amarone Oro Grappa with a Nub Connecticut 460 and an Oliva Serie V Melanio Robusto. Great vibe and good spot to meet with local aficionados.
The Oliva Nub Connecticut 460 is a compact yet flavorful cigar, featuring a smooth Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper and Nicaraguan binder and fillers. This 4x60 cigar delivers a creamy, mellow smoke with hints of toast, wood, and spice, making it a favorite for a quick yet satisfying experience.
The Oliva Serie V Melanio Robusto is a premium cigar renowned for its exceptional craftsmanship and rich flavours. This 5x52 box-pressed cigar features a beautiful Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper and a blend of Nicaraguan long-fillers, including aged ligero leaves from the Jalapa region. The smoke is full-bodied and complex, offering notes of black pepper, cocoa and coffee, with hints of caramel and toast.
The Poli Cleopatra Amarone Oro Grappa is a refined and aromatic spirit crafted from the fresh marc of Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara grapes used in Amarone wine production. Happy Friday Aficionados.
Sitting here in the cozy Macanudo Lounge in beautiful KL, starting the weekend with The Leaf Corojo Robusto by Oscar Valladares. We had the pleasure of visiting the team behind this wonderful stogie a few months ago during our visit to Danli, Honduras (see the Factory Visit post =)).
The Leaf series is an eye-catcher to start with. Each cigar is individually wrapped in a to***co leaf. Unwrapping this rustic look reveals the cigar. The carefully selected wrapper is a clear visual contrast to the leaf used to wrap the cigar. By the way, the band is made of paper from the to***co left over from production. Oscar ensures there is no waste in their production, fully appreciating the value of this raw material.
Lighting the cigar reveals the true pleasure for the senses. Medium to strong, it offers an intense aroma with distinct notes of pepper, toast, and oak, all wrapped in a creamy, smooth smoke. Perfect for a relaxing evening!
