🍷 Seema's May and June - Jean Bourdy Côtes du Jura Savignin $58.99 🇫🇷

🙌 Not your average white!

🔹To many, Jura wines aren't just only wines - it's heritage in a bottle, especially from a producer that is among France's oldest winemaking families.

🔸Jean Bourdy's wines are renowned for their excellent quality. This Demeter-certified biodynamic wine is highly concentrated as its grapes are from old vines (around 40 years old!), creating an ageworthy example of a classic style of this region. Savignin is the signature white grape of the Jura and has been cultivated there for centuries!

🔹This wine has complex oxidative and nutty characteristics with over 4 years of barrel aging with no top-ups. The result of it's relatively unique winemaking process that produces sherry-like characteristics, such as roasted walnut, bruised apple, brioche/yeast, marzipan and yellow pear.

🔸If you are looking for something quality different, this one is a fantastic choice. Serve a bit warmer for a white, around 14-16 degrees.

🍷 Augusto's April - Stratus Vineyards Red Icewine $46.00 🇨🇦

🔸Stratus Icewine red is a delicious dessert wine from Niagara on the Lake Ontario from the Niagara Peninsula, Canada.

🔹It is crafted from a blend of 43% Petit Verdot, 35% Cabernet Franc, and 22% Cabernet Sauvignon, showcasing a rather unique blend of grapes for Icewine! Stratus Icewine red offers a rich and complex profile, with notes of red cranberry, strawberries, Turkish Delight, and dried autumn leaves. This is a sweet wine that is balanced with ample natural acidity that is characteristic of Icewines!

🔸Icewine is made in a distinctive process in which grapes are frozen to approximately 8 degrees celcius, and then carefully chosen hand-picked grapes are pressed. This process releases relatively concentrated juice that imparts great freshness and purity to the wines.

🔹This wine would pair nicely with blue cheese or a nice fruit and cheese platter! Stratus Vineyards suggesst pairing it with shortbread with royal paste icing!
