The Walkerville Distillery District Night Market is always one of our favs, and since the June one was cancelled, this one will be the big season kickoff so you won’t want to miss it.

Stop by to learn more about the Native land you occupy as well as Canada’s progress with reconciliation, plus you can browse our collection of books written by Indigenous authors and support the Indigenous makers in our shop.

The store is open, the AC is on and we’ve got lots of beautiful Canadian-made gifts to share with you. 🇨🇦

Can’t believe it’s already fireworks night on Monday! If you’re coming downtown to soak up the vibes and check out the show, we’ll be open at the shop from 12-9pm.

Please keep in mind that a lot of streets (including ours) will be closed to vehicle traffic and will be pedestrian only starting at 6pm that evening. Swipe to see the specific road closures 👉🏼

What is a whiskeyjack?

Whiskeyjack is a nickname for the Canada Jay, which is a bird found in every territory and province within Canada. It’s also a friendly and smart bird who chooses not to migrate in the winter, and braves the Canadian cold better than most of us!

The name whiskeyjack came from the Indigenous for Wisakedjak, who was a known trickster in Anishinaabe legends. Known to be quite clever and friendly, the Canada Jay is the only bird with a name rooted in Indigenous culture, and for these reasons above this species was named by National Geographic as Canada's National Bird.
