Having fun is what we always aim to do here. Giving back feels good. We love our community and our families. We honour them by doing what we think would make them proud.

Our Cash Quest this year has kind of been on hiatus the past week or so because of us having to take personal time to be with family. It didn't feel right to play our game when our hearts weren't in it.

Then, a member of our work family received the worst news imaginable in the last 24 hours... And so our hearts stay committed to supporting our loved ones and our team for now. We can't have fun when we're hurting and knowing our people are hurting.

We're still doing more Cash Quest, we're just taking a break to be there for each other and our loved ones. Please stay tuned for more information but know that we love you all and that we're only on hiatus for the best reasons.

Sending kids to camp in the best way possible! YMCA of Chatham-Kent has been a home for us for years now and all they do is good things for good people. We love all they do and we love being apart of their family.

Our family here, Your Hometown Deli and the Chatham-Kent Barnstormers all donated and pushed the bus to send the kids to camp!

Shout-out to the boys and Lefty for setting the bar with the best time!

Just an update. Tragedy is such a wild ride. You learn so much through the pain. Empathy is something to wish upon even your biggest enemy. Some things are more important than the little things that frustrate us or make us mad.

The truth we saw today? Everyone is so generous.

People like to run down our communities. We say communities because people love to draw lines. Walpole vs. Wallaceburg vs. Port Lambton vs. West Kent vs. CK... And so on and so on.

The truth of the matter is, we all need each other. We're intertwined by politics, by the economy, by blood and most importantly... BY CHOICE.

Anyone who thinks otherwise is deeply mistaken and we pray they figure it out. Coming together for this family is a reminder that we are ONE COMMUNITY and kindness wins when it really matters.

Our friends at Jumping Beans have graciously agreed to set up a jar and match donations with us. To everyone else, miigwech for all you do and stand for.

It seems that most people today are having a rough start. Horns honking, engines roaring, people yelling and even the usually very sweet lady at Timmy's was rather short. All of it may have lit a nasty fire for us to continue to burn all day but that energy won't get us today.

For us, the truest form of sadness has hit our community. The passing of a young person is the hardest thing in life to manage. Here at the shops, we are a family of many young families. We can't imagine what the family must be experiencing this morning and our hearts are swollen with love for them. We hope we all can help them share their grief as it's far too much for anyone to hold themselves.

In response, we have set up a donation jar for the family on both sides, to help in the little way that we can.

We will match whatever our generous customers contribute and we say miigwech to you all and your families for your thoughts and prayers.
