Well it’s finally done! We had to order a flatbed truck with a crane, empty the shelves, rip the store apart to get the old one out and the new one in, and refill it, our new wine and beer singles fridge is finally a reality. Thanks to you, our customers, who put up with the mess for a week, to our awesome staff who made it all happen, and to Method Air who handled all the logistics and the installation. And it’s lovely! Cmon in and marvel at its beauty.

The ongoing embargo against US wines has us all exploring intriguing alternatives from Italy, France and Spain. But what about Portugal? Today we are tasting two wines from Sao Lourenco winery in the Bairrada region. The red is a blend of Touriga National, Portugal’s king of reds, with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Think SuperTuscan style except from Portugal. The white is a Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc blend with some Portuguese native varietals. C’mon in between 2 and 6 pm and discover why Portugal remains the home of great value in the wine world

Single malt lovers! We have a very special tasting planned for Friday afternoon between 4 and 7. Lee Hanson is the whiskey ambassador for Select Wines in Western Canada, where he oversees a great single barrel single malt program for The First Edition and The Old Malt Cask programs. He will be pulling back the curtain on his distinctive program and sampling some very rare drams from that program tomorrow afternoon. Sip and learn!
