As we mentioned we will only be having one of our markets this summer. We've been receiving messages about it sooooo.... applications are now open! Please keep in mind we only have space for 30 vendors so not all who apply may be selected. You will receive an email if you are and your space is not secured until your $20 fee has been paid.
Sorry but we do not accept applications for MLM businesses.

Minnows will FINALLY be available to purchase beginning this Saturday at approximately 8:30am and will be available until the ice is not consistently safe.

New year, same Natalie planning something.
This year we've switched up our schedule a bit and will only be holding 1, yes 1 of our traditional markets (it's gonna be a banger!) BUT we've added a few new things to our events calendar that we are sure will be an incredible time.
Take a look at what we have planned and keep an eye out for vendor registration, ticket sales and more information!
It's cold out now, but Spring will be here before we know it and we can't wait to hang out in the parking lot with you!

Who got the stomach bug? We did.
Natalie has been completely out of commission since the wee hours of Wednesday morning and now.... it got Kenny. For the sake of our own well being and as an effort to not pass this on to the whole town we will be closing for the rest of the day today, Friday December 20th.
Sorry for any inconvenience and wash your hands, it's a doozy.

The irony in this quote is not lost on me. Last night I spent 4 hours removing the tax off eligible items (okay the last 30 minutes was chatting with a friend who visited) and just barely made it halfway through the work needed to be done. While I did so, the government made announcements in regards to how the tax holiday can be handled by businesses. This week Pepsi for one made it clear they would not comply. It's safe to assume others will follow. No real clarity at all from from any view. It puts small businesses like ours in a horrible situation and further more a worrisome one. I can purchase items with tax included and choose to not charge it or purchase whatever is needed an continue to charge tax at our establishment as large corporations adjust. If we decide to remove that tax it will leave us waiting on our next quarter to see taxes returned. This can accumulate to a large amount quickly. Alternatively we can charge tax. Risking that our customers will choose a competitor who decided not too. It's alot think about and in my last post I noted we would be opening at 9am. It will likely be later now, as either way there is pricing that needs to be changed. I will open when we're ready. Please rest assured that all beer and liquor store products will absolutely be sold tax free beginning tomorrow .

Tax break is coming! Tonight after we close Natalie will make the changes in our system. While we are pleased with the one we use, it has a bit of a flaw in this situation. Everything that fits the criteria for the tax break will need to be changed one by one. That means every variety of chip, chocolate bar, beer and so much more we carry. We currently have just over 1800 items in our product list and a VERY large portion of them are eligible. So I guess what we're saying is we wont be opening until 9am on Saturday December 14th so Natalie can get an extra hour in. Trust us, it's important ;)

What a fantastic weekend in Tweed kicking off the holiday season! Huge congratulations to to the Tweed Hungerford Agricultural Fair for the success in their first Christmas night market. It was breathtaking! Today we got to participate in what very well might have been the biggest parade we've had in Tweed and then attend the Tweed Festival of Trees for their 20th anniversary. If you haven't seen the tree created by DCW Welding Fabrication you NEED to check it out. We finished of our day getting our picture taken with Santa by Lisa Dea at Rashotte Home Hardware Building Centre. Don't forget we are gonna make sure Santa gets everyone's letter this year so if we missed you today we will accept them at the store until closing tomorrow. Lastly, was anyone able to apprehend the grinch on the dirt bike who stole someone's Christmas tree?

We know Natalie seems like an angry elf sometimes but here's what matters.... she knows Santa! And with the help of all the elves from Rashotte Home Hardware Building Centre, she's gonna make sure all the letters get to the big guy. Children can drop off their letters this Saturday during the festivities at Rashottes. If you are unable to make it to all the fun things they have planned there, letters can be dropped off at The Thomasburg Store until December 7th. Don't forget to include your address if you want Santa to write back! (Tweed residents only please 🎅)

Two years ago today we got the keys. Took til January to make it ours and open the doors but I like to think in the whole picture two years is a pretty short time for how far we've come. Absolutely no regrets with this banger of a spontaneous decision. 🤣

Count down is on! There's are only a few more sleeps until rifle season starts so don't forget we are a MNR license issuer. You can renew your outdoors card, buy licensing and print your tags in store. While you're there, increase your chances and buy some deer apples or feed from our friends at Rack Stacker Inc. It's no wonder I've picked Kenny Perry to be my right hand. Not only has he decorated the store with all his own decorations he's been sporting a costume handmade by his mom, Diane Perry quite a few years ago all day long. Do me a favor, stop in with your kids to see him! He's got treats to hand out tonight and would love to see them. Happy Halloween to all our customers!

Yup! We're open and back to regular hours for both the store and Nat's Place. I'm humbled by the support and amount of empathy our community has shown and can't thank you enough for your patience. Here's an update on our 'patients'...
Vada successfully made the trip out of the hunting camp and traveled to KGH. The team of doctors attempted to set her break externally with not a satisfying result so she is now home, fasting and awaiting her turn for surgery.
Thomas made the trip to Capital City Specialty & Emergency Animal Hospital in Kanata and was admitted. The team has a plan in order and as of this mornings call, no real diagnosis has been made but his 'personality' is starting to show (if you know you know) He's is being sedated and given then full go over as this is written.
In both cases I am comfortable and confident in amazing end results and am sure life will return to normal chaotic instead of insanely chaotic quite soon.
Again, I can't thank our friends, staff and neighbors for all your understanding.

A long drive and just as long of a wait for us to be told another vet can't help. Thomas is traveling back to Tweed so we can come up with a new course of action for him. In the meantime our 12 year old daughter is returning from her very first moose hunting trip very early and in a cast. For Vada, we wait on a call from a pediatric surgeon at KGH to advise on repairing the growth plate in the foot she broke. Store hours will be hit or miss today while we take care of who is special to us. Hopefully by tomorrow we will be back to regular scheduled hours. In the meantime say a little prayer, cross your fingers or do whatever you do for ours. ✌️
