Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a ๐๐ผ๐ฎ๐๐๐ฎ๐น ๐๐น๐ผ๐ผ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ช๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ป๐ถ๐ป๐ด for the Vancouver Island Coastline from Nootka Sound to Barkley Sound, including Tofino.
Elevated ocean levels are expected around high tide at 11:04 AM on ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐๐๐ฟ๐ฑ๐ฎ๐, ๐๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ฒ๐บ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ญ๐ฐ, ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฐ, accompanied by strong winds, large waves, and a high storm surge. Water levels are anticipated to exceed approximately 100 centimetres above the Highest Astronomical Tide (HAT).
The combination of surges and waves may cause damage along the coast. Flooding is likely near the coastline and in nearby low-lying areas.

The District of Tofino is actively monitoring conditions. If conditions worsen, beach access points may be temporarily closed to ensure the safety of residents and visitors.

Due to the potential of coastal flooding, the District of Tofino is offering free sandbags for residents & businesses.
๐๐ผ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป: Sand and bags are available outside the gate at the Public Works Yard, 620 Industrial Way.
