Guys, Lovebird Snack Club is closing soon. It’s not you, it’s us. Hear me out:

We started as a contract beer brand. Why? We had almost no money to start the project. Do you know how much brewers get paid? It’s not great, but I digress.

Anyways, we quickly realized that the only way we could sell our beer directly to you was to open a bottle shop. And honestly, it was a joy to curate wine and beer, snacks and cocktails for you. You guys supported us so much more than we could have ever imagined. We could not be more grateful. Do you know how many cans of beer Lovebird sold in 2024? 17,000. SEVENTEEN THOUSAND CANS. It’s been Alex and I (mostly Alex) doing everything solo - delivering orders, designing cans, ordering wine, coming up with fun events, shaking cocktails, stuffin’ olives - but the whole goal was for Alex to do what he does best, which is make good beer.

After only a year and a half, we outgrew the space in Thornbury (don’t worry - the space is going to another amazing company who will do incredible things, too) and we’re moments away from opening a whole-ass (small) brewery in Meaford. And you know who’s running the kitchen? ! His plans are amazing and I cannot WAIT to say more soon. We’ll still have great wines by the glass and cocktails too because that’s a huge part of what we love, but we’re excited to do COOL BEER THINGS.

WE WILL BE OPEN FOR FEBRUARY AND MARCH. Please keep in mind that since it’s just the two of us running the show and we have a baby on the way in April (don’t congratulate us though, it’s our fourth and we know we’re crazy), we will be taking the occasional day off here and there to enjoy time as a family before we go full force into consistent brewery hours. I know that can be frustrating, I get it - please be tender with us. Our kids are growing up fast and we want to savour the moments with them. Check Google and Instagram to make sure we’re open - the only firm close dates we have so far are this upcoming weekend (Jan 17-19) and then February 1st. Otherwise it’s smooth sailing. And we have a few last events AND a HUGE sale coming up.
