Over the last few months, you have allowed me into your homes, shared your stories, and welcomed me with incredible warmth. I can't thank you enough. We’ve discussed the issues at length, I have listened, and I have learned.

If elected, I promise to keep these doors of communication wide open so everyone stays involved and informed.

The Winter Carnival and the fall fair are coming back to celebrate our community. I'm also going to add a Summer Jubilee to the yearly itinerary where we can expand business recognition by building region wide celebrations where businesses can promote their products and trades to a larger audience.

How I plan to ENSURE Ward 2 residents are informed.

While campaigning these past few months, I was shocked at how many people weren't aware of all the issues and everything connected to those issues. When these issues have been brought up on my socials, our Mayor has been quick to inform us with dates and times when there were public consultations regarding those matters. Our mayor is not wrong.
What's been lacking though, is the mechanisms to ensure that Ward 2 residents are aware of those public consultations.

To do this, if elected, I will build a multi-layered communication network by promoting:

Community Advocates: Partnering with neighborhood associations and local leaders to share all updates and proposals directly with you.

Quarterly Town Halls: Hosting regular meetings at the Ballantrae Community Center so you can get a macro level look at all upcoming projects.

The Ward 2 Portal: I'll be creating a digital space with an interactive map detailing all proposals and projects along with an email registry so you can opt in for automated alerts near your home.

Active Social Media: Moving away from generic posts to bring hyper-local, geo targeted updates and proposals straight to your feeds. If you have any ideas on what you'd like to call the social page, let me know.

Information is important and your awareness is even more important.

My vision for Whitchurch-Stouffville’s growth comes down to two simple ideas: grow smart downtown, and protect our rural communities.

1. Intelligent Density Downtown
We need more homes on a smaller footprint in our urban core. By using tools like the Community Improvement Plan (CIP), we can focus higher density housing where transit and infrastructure already exist. This injects energy into our downtown and fuels local businesses!

2. Strict Protection for Ward 2
Urban sprawl has no place in Ballantrae or Musselman's Lake. We must fiercely uphold our Official Plan and Oak Ridges Moraine guidelines to promote smaller infill projects, block larger scale expansions, protect our water resources, and preserve the village like character we love.

By balancing smart urban density with strict rural containment, we build a prosperous Stouffville and a beautiful Ward 2.
