Opening doors for Atlantic Canadian families 🏠❤️

We are proud to celebrate the official opening of the new Ronald McDonald House in Halifax, NS. Together with the Arthur and Sandra Irving Foundation, we contributed a combined gift of $1 million to create a comforting space for families visiting the IWK Health Centre.

“This makes a world of difference,” says Jacqueline Randall whose nine-year-old son, Teddy, has visited Ronald McDonald House many times over the years as he receives treatment for cerebral palsy. “Having a place with wheelchair accessibility means greater independence for Teddy. We’re so happy to see him happy.”

With twice the capacity, Ronald McDonald House in Halifax can now welcome up to 1,400 families per year.

Through initiatives like Fuel the Care and our contributions toward the IWK Health Centre’s emergency room, we are committed to supporting meaningful programs that make a difference in our communities.

By offering a space of comfort and connection, we are proud to help families focus on what matters most.

Charting the course for a strong energy future 🌊

The first of two new charter product tanker vessels recently arrived in Saint John, NB, with the second scheduled to join our network later this spring.

The Algoma East Coast and its sister vessel – the Algoma Acadian – are on long-term charter through a $127-million investment in partnership with the Algoma Central Corporation, a global provider of marine transportation.

This investment supports the distribution of high-quality energy products to our valued customers and represents our company’s continued commitment to providing a secure supply of energy in the regions where we operate.

Building the leaders of tomorrow 🛠️👷‍

By helping lead the Project Ex*****on Construction team, Meagan Wood plays a critical role in managing construction projects for our Saint John refinery, our East Saint John Terminal and our Irving Canaport marine terminal.

“It’s important for me to be a role model for this next generation of women in skilled trades,” Meagan says. “I hope to show the students in our community all the opportunities that are here for them, helping break down industry stereotypes.”

This week, Meagan is one of several employees who will be speaking with high school students at the Trades & Tech Career Exploration event, part of the 2025 SCNB Provincial Skills Competition held at NBCC, where she and others will share their journey in our industry. As a proud sponsor, Irving Oil is supporting this initiative to celebrate the young people who will soon shape the future of trades.

This event introduces high school students to hands-on experiences by trying on protective gear, exploring tools and meeting mentors. The event also features an educator forum and our employees will be judging technical competitions in areas such as electrical installations, industrial mechanics, welding, pipefitting, public speaking and safety specialties.

Our employees wore yellow this week to show their support for the people in our lives impacted by cancer.

After years of working in southern Ontario, Alycia Hastings was eager to return home to New Brunswick, where her family and the ocean were waiting.

At Irving Oil, she found an opportunity as a Front End Engineer, complete with a quick commute and office views spanning the Bay of Fundy.

"I love the small-town feel while still having big-city opportunities," Alycia says.

Now, Alycia enjoys the creative process involved in project development. When new ideas emerge, her team evaluates them, builds a business case and determines how they can be introduced.

"You really get a full view of the business when you're working on a project," she says. "There is always room at the table for new ideas and all opinions are valued."

Before joining our Saint John refinery as a Facilities Technician, Deep Singh studied business commerce in India. His curiosity led him to NBCC Saint John, where he discovered new opportunities to grow his career.

Today, Deep contributes to our Oil Movements team, helping products transition efficiently from the refinery to their final destinations. His role involves streamlining processes and supporting teams to effectively achieve their targets.

"We see the full picture of our supply chain, from start to finish," Deep says. "It's rewarding to see the impact of your efforts and have a hand in something so important."

Throughout his career, Deep has remained committed to personal development.
