Overview
Hello Deer! is your friendly neighborhood convenience store and gas station in Red Deer. From fuel and snacks to fresh hot food, lottery, and everyday essentials, we serve our customers with a smile every day.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable, and hardworking individual who can handle both store operations and our hot food corner. If you enjoy working with people, staying active, and preparing quick, delicious food, this role is a great fit.
Food Preparation & Service
- Prepare hot food items such as fries, fried chicken, wings, and other quick-service items
- Ensure food is cooked, handled, and stored following safety standards
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations in compliance with health regulations
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, mixers, and other utensils
- Uphold food safety standards and proper storage procedures
Customer Service & Store Operations
- Greet customers warmly and provide a welcoming experience
- Handle cash, POS transactions, and lottery sales accurately, manage cash handling duties at POS terminals with accuracy and professionalism
- Keep the store, fuel area, and restrooms clean and organized
- Restock shelves and monitor inventory levels
- Assist customers with questions and promote store products
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and notifying supervisors of shortages
- Support team members during peak hours to ensure timely service delivery
Experience
- Previous experience in food preparation, retail sales, or customer service is preferred but not required
- Familiarity with merchandising, cashiering, or POS systems is a plus
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are advantageous for serving a diverse clientele
- Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction processing
- Demonstrated organizational skills and time management to handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Ability to work well within a team, demonstrating good phone etiquette and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of upselling techniques to promote products effectively
