Good Morning

We been having problems with people bring dogs and other pets into the store. I know everyone loves their pets just as much as I love mine but they are not aloud in the store due to government regulations only guide dog are aloud in the store. I have talked to the government and here is what they told me.

As per our telephone conversation, I am writing to provide clarification regarding the presence of animals in food establishments in accordance with applicable food safety regulations.

Please be advised that every room where food is manufactured, prepared, processed, handled, served, displayed, stored, sold, or offered for sale must be kept free from live birds and animals.

The only exceptions permitted under the regulations are:

A guide dog that is actively serving a person with a disability; and
Live aquatic species, provided they are maintained in sanitary tanks within the food premises.

These requirements are in place to ensure sanitary conditions are maintained and to prevent potential contamination of food products.

If animals are observed in areas where food is handled, and they do not fall within the permitted exceptions, this would be considered non-compliant with food safety standards and must be addressed promptly.
