Some of you may have seen Darren’s little unauthorized post yesterday, eating the inventory, and acting like we had entered some sort of lawless social media era. Management has returned. And since we’re here, yes — the Honey Maple Crunch Burger is still available this weekend, while supplies last.

And while Darren was busy staging his Facebook coup…WE WON AN AWARD!! Lakeville Convenience was named BEST FOOD SERVICE PROVIDER by the Chamber of Commerce! Now, we’re not usually ones to brag… Actually, that’s a lie. WE WON BEST FOOD SERVICE PROVIDER!!! 😂🎉

For our little family-run store, this means so much. Every burger, every loaf of bread, every batch of soup, every crazy special, every early morning and every “what on earth are we making today?” has been made possible because you keep showing up for us. So thank you. Truly. ❤️

There’s lots happening in our little community this year, and we LOVE seeing everyone come together to make Halloween fun for the kids. ❤️
First up, Lakeville Community Hall is hosting Trunk or Treat from 2–4 PM on October 31st! 🚗🍬. If you’d like to hand out treats from your vehicle — or set up a table inside the hall — send them a message so they can make sure there’s room for everyone.
And while you’re out making the rounds… Come see us too!
We’ve got our own Halloween fun planned, treats ready, and of course plenty of good food for anyone who needs to fuel up before, during, or after the candy haul. 😂

We all love saving a few cents at the pumps. But did you know that not all gasoline delivers the same amount of energy per litre? LET'S TALK ETHANOL!

At Lakeville Convenience, our regular gasoline contains 10% ethanol. Other gasoline blends can contain 15% or even 20% ethanol (E15 and E20).

So what's the difference? Ethanol contains less energy per litre than gasoline. That means higher ethanol blends can result in slightly higher fuel consumption. Let's take a Subaru Forester averaging 8.2 L/100 km as an example.

At $1.94/L for E10 versus $1.90/L for higher ethanol blends, here's the estimated cost to drive 500 km:
⛽ E10 (10% ethanol): $79.54
⛽ E15 (15% ethanol): $79.45
⛽ E20 (20% ethanol): $81.04

See what happened there? That cheaper price at the pump doesn't necessarily translate into savings on the road! AND HERE'S A LITTLE EXTRA FROM US! ☕

Carry the children’s candy buckets when they become “too heavy.” Then, after they’re asleep…. Check the candy for safety.
And by “safety” we obviously mean eat the good chocolate before they notice. We don't make the rules. We'll have treats, spider hotdogs and plenty of Halloween fun waiting for our favourite little monsters.

Tomorrow, Thanksgiving Monday, Lakeville Convenience will be CLOSED so we can spend some time with our families, and our amazing Lakeville crew can do the same. And while Thanksgiving is officially one day a year, we have an awful lot to be thankful for every single day.
First, our incredible team — Amaia, Tammy, Lindsey, Amanda and Myley. ❤️ These five are the heart of our little store. They put up with the chaos, the customers, the questionable management decisions (mostly Darren’s, obviously 😂), and somehow still show up with smiles on their faces.

We couldn’t do what we do without them, and we’re so incredibly grateful they’re part of our Lakeville family.

And then there’s YOU. Our wonderful little community, our regulars, our visitors from near and far, and everyone who supports our slightly mad little country store.

You make this place so much more than a convenience store.

Whether you’re spending tomorrow surrounded by family, celebrating with friends, or having a quiet day to yourself, we hope it’s filled with warmth, laughter and something delicious. And if this holiday feels a little lonely, please remember…There’s always a seat at our table. ❤️

We love Thanksgiving. We love the food. We love the stuffing. We love the cranberry sauce. What we don't love is spending six hours in the kitchen, dirtying every dish we own, and then pretending we're grateful when someone asks what's for dessert. 🙄 So this weekend, we're taking all the best bits of Thanksgiving and turning them into something utterly ridiculous.

🍁🦃 THANKSGIVING POUTINE! 🦃🍁 Picture this…
A mountain of hot, golden, crispy fries, delicious, melty cheese, tender, savoury chicken, Thanksgiving stuffing........ All smothered in rich, piping-hot gravy..... And cranberry sauce to bring that perfect little hit of sweet and tangy goodness.

It's basically Thanksgiving dinner in a bowl, wearing stretchy pants. 🤤😂
No roasting. No peeling. No mountain of dishes. And absolutely no pretending you enjoy your aunt's questionable vegetable casserole.

Look, we know. Lakeville is not exactly a seaside community. No ocean views. No fishing boats. No salty Atlantic breeze. But since management is currently gallivanting around Newfoundland, we figured we’d bring a little taste of the East Coast back to Lakeville........ Thursday is FISH & CHIPS DAY!

Simple. Crispy. Delicious. And because nobody should have to sit there watching everyone else eat fish and chips…. OUR GLUTEN-FREE FRIENDS — WE’VE GOT YOU TOO! 🙌. Yep. You guessed it. Because apparently we can bring the ocean to Lakeville AND accommodate dietary needs.

Frankly, we’re overachieving. 😂. So come hungry Thursday. We’ll supply the fish and chips. You’ll have to imagine the ocean.
