Are you starting to ponder your New Year’s Resolutions?

If health is one of your goals for 2020, I’d love you to personally invite you to join me on a 30 Day Program that will certainly leave you with:

Fibre!
Did that make you cringe lol! It is an essential aspect to a healthy diet.
WHY?

Well...it does a few things for us! Experts say that anywhere from 60-80% of your health is due to what's going on in your gut. That's where it all starts! Making sure you have enough fibre will:
🌱
Slow the rate that sugar is absorbed into the bloodstream. When you eat foods high in fibre, such as beans and whole grains, the sugar in those foods is absorbed slower, which keeps your blood glucose levels from rising too fast. This is good for you because spikes in glucose fall rapidly, which can make you feel hungry soon after eating and lead to overeating.

Make your intestines move faster. When you eat whole grains rich in insoluble fibre, it moves faster through your intestines, which can help signal that you are full.

Clean your colon, acting like a scrub brush. The scrub-brush effect of fibre helps clean out bacteria and other buildup in your intestines, and reduces your risk for colon cancer.

Help keep you regular! (always a good thing). A high-fibre diet helps you have soft, regular bowel movements, reducing constipation.
Definitely another topic worth researching. And the consensus is clear...just add it!

Many people at this time of year will be heard saying they’ll wait until Jan 1st to start taking care of their bodies. If you don’t start today, what makes you think you’ll find it any easier to start Jan 1st?

Don’t let the holidays be your excuse to treat your body like crap!!!! Don’t you want to enter 2020 ahead of the game and feeling great?

Even if you have 10 holiday meals, that’s about 10% of those 90 meals! Sure, treat yourself at those celebrations, but why not take care of your body and fuel it with good food those other 80meals?!

I can tell you that come Jan 1st, if you treat your body poorly leading up to and during the holidays, you’re going to have a lot of bad habits that are going to be really hard to break.

I encourage you to start today! Fuel your body with food that will serve you and help you not only look your best but feel your best and give you confidence!

Kale, kale, wonderful kale. I know it can seem like it’s a “trendy” thing to eat, but even so—it’s amazing! Add it to a shake, omelette, salad . . . the options are limitless!

Kale is HIGHLY alkaline forming, which is great for our bodies. It is a leafy green that is widely known for its cancer-fighting, cholesterol-lowering, antioxidant-rich, detoxifying goodness. It is less popular than spinach, but only because it has a history of being cooked poorly (like cabbage). When done right, it is absolutely DELICIOUS. Like spinach, it is LOADED with Vitamins K, A, and C.

The reason kale is so powerful against fighting cancer is that it contains at least four glucosinolates; as soon as you eat and digest kale, these glucosinolates are easily converted by the body into cancer-fighting compounds. Kale is also amazing at lowering cholesterol, but it should be noted that steamed kale is more effective than raw in this case.

Do you find yourself or even your kids picking up every darn bug that goes around 😷 and you want to find a way to be pro-active in keeping your immune system in tip top shape to avoid those nasty colds/flus that keep you bed ridden? 👊

Here are 5️⃣ tips that are going to help you and your family support your immune system and dodge those cold and flu bugs this Fall 🍁 and into the Winter months ahead.

1. Stay hydrated! 💦 Drinking 1/2 your body weight in water each day will ensure that the toxins in your body are being flushed out (literally) on the daily! it also helps curve your appetite and keep your skin hydrated as the cold weather sets in.
2. Sleep 😴 Make sure you are getting enough sleep…8 hrs…start unwinding 1hr before you go to sleep…plug the phone in outside your bedroom, have a hot bath, cup of herbal tea, read a book.
3. Incorporate lots of leafy greens 🥬into your diet. Leafy greens among other benefits, help control your immune cells, also have lots of fibre to bind toxins and release them from your body
4. Limit your intake of high refined sugars! 🚫 Sugar wreaks havoc on your immune system. Have a handful of berries for dessert instead of a bowl of ice-cream!
5. Adopt an attitude of gratitude! 🙏Studies have shown that having an attitude of gratitude can have an impact on your health . I like to keep a gratitude journal by my bed to write down 5 things I’m grateful for each day. If you have kids, have them share 1 or 2 things they are grateful for that happened that day.
