Always proud to partner with the kilted chef. Did you catch last nights show? If you are a seafood lover this Spicy apple & shallot mignonette with oysters is a great choice. The only thing missing is the dessert.

Pretty cool!!

The Fairies of Inverness, Nova Scotia

Almost no one remembers, but the the town of Inverness was built over a fairy sithen. The whole district which the town of Inverness now covers was formerly called the Shean (from the Gaelic Sithean, meaning the house of the fairies). You will notice the presence of the word Shean throughout the town to this day.

When the settlers arrived, in the center ofthe district, there was a small hill, shaped something like a large hay stack, where the old people used to see the “little people” in thousands. People in general would not walk about in that place at night; but when they did, as soon as they approached the hill the little visitors vanished. A man who owned a farm at that place was so much troubled by noises of no natural description that he sold his place in order to get rid of them. There are stories of people going missing for days and returning ith their hair braided in intricate, tiny braids. Also horses in the area were often found ith braids in their hair.

It truly is a shame that so much of our oral History has been lost.
