Today, we honour our beloved ownership — our Father, Husband, Uncle, Brother, and Friend: Mr. Tain Sung Chong. It’s been 7 years since you received your wings.

We send you our blessing today with respect and gratitude. Many patrons, friends and family still continue to pay homage and respects to you — from far and wide. We are very thankful for the stories each of you have shared with us about our beloved. We love hearing about these special memories.

Thank you for continuing to watch over us and for guiding us into our 43rd year. Nothing would be possible without the sacrifices you made and for the hard work you put in when you arrived in Canada. The Year the Fire Horse is on the approach, beginning on February 17. Lunar New Year is a 15 day long celebration and it’s time for preparation 🐎✨

As we exit the Year of the Snake, leaving and shedding behind all that no longer serves us, we look ahead to the Year of the Fire Horse. It will be dynamic year of fast-paced leadership energy, movement, passion for new direction, and opportunity for building social connections and relationships. The trick is knowing when to caution and rein in that extra energy. Be mindful, focus on emotional balance and wellbeing. Bring strategic thinking when planning and decision making with intention, not reaction.

Pre-order is now open for fresh roasted Cantonese style BBQ duck, pork (charsiu), longevity noodles (yee-mein), brown sugar glutinious rice cake (nian go) and savoury radish cake (lor bok go). Pickup your order anytime Monday, February 16 or Tuesday, February 17 from 9:30 am till 6:00 pm.

We are 10 days away from the Mid-Autumn Festival aka Mooncake Festival, commencing on October 6! 🌕 This is a time to express gratitude for the autumn harvest and to celebrate by gathering with family and friends.

Mooncakes are officially in-store! Grab a set of 4 mooncakes to enjoy with your loved ones. Choose from classic favourites like red bean and mixed nuts or go for our best seller and family favourite, lotus with double yolks. Pair with hot jasmine tea or a matcha latte.

11 days till we welcome the Lunar New Year also known as the Spring Festival! The countdown is on as we prepare for the Year of the Wood Snake arriving on January 29. Celebrations will continue for 15 days.

The Year of the Snake is said to be a time for growth, transformation, and renewal. The snake is the sixth animal in the zodiac and represents wisdom, patience, and mystery. The wood element adds creativity and balance, making it a year to learn new skills and build relationships. Snakes are known for their ability to shed their skin, symbolizing the process of letting go of the old and embracing the new.

Pre-order is now open and will close out January 26 at 2:00pm for Cantonese BBQ duck and pork, traditional nian go (sweet brown sugar rice cake), lo bok gor (savoury daikon radish cake) and fresh yee mein (longevity noodles)! Pickup your order on Tuesday, January 28 anytime between 9:30 am till 6:00 pm.

We hope everyone had a fantastic holiday celebration. New Year’s Eve is right around the corner and we are preparing with Chinese BBQ! Kick off the celebrations with fresh BBQ roasted pork (charsiu) $16/lb or BBQ roasted duck (whole) $55. Pre-orders will close out Sunday, December 30 at 12:00 noon. We are honoured that our small family biz has been selected, 3 years consecutively as Favourite General Store and 2 years consecutively as Favourite Deli / Specialty Foods. None of this would be possible without our loyal customers, family and supporters. We are truly lucky and grateful to be a part of such an amazing coastal community.

Throughout our 40 years of operations, we have poured in the work, time, dedication and love into our Mom n’ Pop Shop. There’s also the other side- difficult times, tears, sacrifices and burn out. So whether your business is big or small, we recognize and see you!!! Keep growing, grinding and shining ✨
