🍕🍗 JESS HAS STARTED THE RELOAD! 🚨

The full restock is coming tomorrow, but apparently Jess didn’t want us going into the evening completely unprepared. 😂

For now, we’ve got:

🍕 Pizza Fingers
🍗 Country Style Chicken

So if supper tonight is currently looking like “I have no idea and I really don’t feel like figuring it out”…

Good news. Jess figured it out for you. 😂🙌

Grab it, heat it up, and call dinner DONE.

And this is just the warm-up — Jess is coming back tomorrow with a FULL STOCK, so we’ll let you know what goodies arrive when she does! 👀🍽️

Until then, the cooler isn’t completely full…

but there’s enough in there to save you from cooking tonight. And really, isn’t that what matters? 😂❤️

🎉❤️ OUR ARTISAN CORNER FINALLY HAS A HOME! ❤️🎉

This has been on our list pretty much since we opened, and we finally got it done!

The new tables are here, they’re set up at the front of the store, and we now have a dedicated space to showcase some of the incredibly talented makers, crafters, bakers, creators and entrepreneurs from our area. 🧶🪵🍯✍️✨

And I LOVE it. ❤️

This little corner represents something that was really important to us when we opened Take It & Go. We wanted our store to be more than somewhere you run in for milk, a drink or a bag of chips. We wanted it to be a place where local people could have an opportunity to put something they created in front of the community — without needing their own storefront to do it.

And look at us now. 🥹

We’ve got woodworking, handmade creations, caramel, keychains, bookmarks, pens and more… and we’re only getting started!

Some of our artisans have been patiently hanging out wherever we could squeeze them in while we waited for these tables.

The front till. A random shelf. Wherever Tina could find six inches of available real estate. 😂

But NO MORE!

They officially have a home. 🙌

There’s still some arranging, tweaking and filling to do — because apparently I’m incapable of putting something together and then just leaving it alone 😂 — but our Artisan Corner is officially up and running!

So when you stop in, take a minute to have a look. You might find a gift, a stocking stuffer, something for a friend… or something you absolutely did not come in for but suddenly need because it’s too darn cute.

And when you purchase something from this corner, you’re not just buying something from Take It & Go.

You’re supporting someone right here in our area who made it. ❤️

🥤🚨 APPARENTLY WE COLLECT COOLERS NOW. 🚨🥤

Remember when we were planning this store, buying equipment, measuring walls, trying to figure out how many coolers we needed and spending an obscene amount of money getting everything set up?

WHERE WERE ALL THESE VENDORS THEN?! 😂😂

Because apparently once you open a convenience store, coolers just start reproducing.

Today we had an Alani cooler AND a Starbucks fridge delivered.

The Alani cooler? Yep. She can stay. 😍

The Starbucks fridge?

Ummmm…

I thought I was getting a cute little mini fridge for the till counter.

That is NOT what arrived. 🤣

I’m currently looking at it with the same expression you give something you ordered online when the package arrives and you immediately think…

“Yeahhhh… no.” 😂

I think this one may be going back. We’ll see if it grows on me overnight, but I wouldn’t place any bets. 🤣

BUT — while the cooler population continues to increase, so does the drink selection! 🙌🥤

We’ve added:

✨🔑 ANOTHER LOCAL ARTISAN HAS JOINED THE CREW! 🔖🖊️

Our little collection of local talent just keeps growing, and today we get to introduce you to Marlene! ❤️

Marlene makes the cutest keychains, bookmarks and pens — colourful, fun, full of personality and basically the kind of things you pick up to look at and then realize…

Well, crap. Now I need one. 😂

They’re perfect for so many little occasions:

Once they’re here, we can finally give all of these talented people — and the things they create — the proper little home they deserve inside Take It & Go.

🍣🚨 OKAY GERALDTON… WE MAY HAVE GOTTEN A LITTLE CARRIED AWAY. 😂🍣

Between the holiday weekend, turkey dinners, sandwiches, salads, baking, Pad Thai, Kao Sweih Kyaw and everything else we had packed into the coolers…

we ordered a little too much sushi. 🤦‍♀️😂

We’re used to you guys making it disappear so fast that apparently we got a little overconfident!

So we still have some sushi in the house, and since it needs to be eaten TONIGHT or TOMORROW, we’d rather send it home with you than have it go to waste.

🍣🥪🎣 FOOD, FISHING & A LITTLE “LOOK WHAT SHAWN FOUND” 😂

First things first…

WE STILL HAVE SUSHI. 🍣😳

I know. We’re as shocked as you are.

We have officially made it PAST THE 24-HOUR MARK with sushi still in the house! 😂 Usually by now I’m posting that Geraldton has cleaned us out and somebody is asking when the next Thunder Bay run is happening.

So if you’re one of those people who always shows up after the sushi disappears…

THIS IS YOUR MOMENT. 🏃‍♀️💨🍣

We also still have some of Rachelle’s fresh sandwiches & salads available, along with a few of Jess’s Thanksgiving turkey dinners! 🦃🥔🥕 If cooking is not on your holiday-weekend agenda, we fully support that decision.

Now, moving away from food for a minute…

🎣 Our little fishing section has MOVED and is slowly GROWING!

Shawn has been adding a few things here and there, and his latest finds are actually pretty darn cool.

He brought in a few balanced rod holders along with a Berkley Lightning Rod. The rod balances on top of the holder while you’re fishing, and when a fish takes it, the rod slides down and locks into place — instead of your rod disappearing into the lake while you stand there questioning every decision that led you to that moment. 😂🎣

GENIUS.

He’s also brought in a few hunting toques, and we’ll continue slowly adding more fishing, hunting and outdoor items as we figure out what you guys actually want to see in the store.

We may not have the biggest outdoor section…

but apparently Shawn has claimed his corner and he’s working on it. 😂

So come grab some sushi, tomorrow’s lunch, a turkey dinner, a fishing rod and a hunting toque.

You know… normal convenience-store stuff. 🤣

🦃🍂 THANKSGIVING DINNER HAS ENTERED THE BUILDING! 🍂🦃

Jess made us a promise… and she absolutely DID NOT disappoint. 🙌😂

Her homemade Thanksgiving Turkey Dinners have arrived! ❤️

🥕 Carrots
🍞 Stuffing
🤎 And everything smothered in gravy — because “drizzled” just doesn’t seem appropriate when we’re talking Thanksgiving dinner. This is not the weekend to be stingy with gravy. 😂

If you’re away from home this weekend, working through the holiday, celebrating on your own, or simply have ZERO desire to cook an entire turkey dinner and then spend two hours washing dishes… Jess has done the work for you. ❤️

And honestly, the store is looking a little ridiculous in the food department right now. 🤣

We’ve got Rachelle’s fresh sandwiches & salads, Jess’s pizza wheels, brisket pinwheels, egg burgers and spinach & artichoke dip, plus sushi, Pad Thai and the NEW Kao Sweih Kyaw from The Salween! 🍣🥪🍜

And then there’s DESSERT. 😏🍰🍪

Because you certainly cannot call it Thanksgiving weekend and forget dessert!

Between Tina from Beyond Imagination 2 and Steph & Tyler, we’ve got plenty of sweet stuff waiting for you — cheesecake, cupcakes, deluxe cookies, fudge, squares, Brookies, loaves and more.

So basically, we can feed you breakfast, lunch, supper, snacks AND dessert all weekend without you having to turn on your stove.

That’s not laziness. That’s holiday efficiency. 😂👏

🦃🍣🥪 THANKSGIVING WEEKEND HAS ARRIVED… AND APPARENTLY SO HAS ALL THE FOOD. 😂

If your plans for this weekend include eating well while doing as little cooking as humanly possible, we have some VERY good news. 🙌

Rachelle from The Rosedale Kitchen has restocked us with fresh sandwiches and salads — so lunch is handled. ✔️

Then Jess showed up and clearly decided nobody should be going hungry this weekend either. 😂 She brought us:

So basically, this weekend you can have an egg burger for breakfast, a sandwich for lunch, pizza wheels for supper, spinach & artichoke dip somewhere in between, Pad Thai or Kao Sweih Kyaw when you’re craving some noodles, sushi because sushi needs no occasion… and then let Jess cook your Thanksgiving dinner.

🥪🍪🚨 THE COOLERS HAVE BEEN RELOADED… AND THINGS ARE GETTING A LITTLE OUT OF HAND. 😂

Rachelle from The Rosedale Kitchen stopped in and stocked us back up with fresh sandwiches and salads — just in time for tomorrow! 🙌

And because apparently she’s not content with leaving well enough alone, she brought us TWO new additions! 👀
