🚨 Important: Parkland County has moved to a FIRE BAN.

No outdoor fires are permitted until further notice, including screened fire pits, burn barrels/incinerators, recreational fire pits and charcoal briquette barbecues. Only gas and propane appliances such as barbecues, stoves and fire pits are allowed. All fire permits are suspended or cancelled, and no new fire permits will be issued.

Are you experiencing cat overpopulation on your property? 🐱 The Edmonton Humane Society's (EHS) Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program is an effective and humane way to manage community cat populations. TNR involves humanely trapping these outdoor, unowned cats, spaying or neutering them, vaccinating, ear-tipping and returning them to their original locations. This controls overpopulation while allowing cats to remain where they are most comfortable.

Over the holidays, our Fire Services rescued Tigger, a two-year-old coonhound who got himself stuck in a 50 foot tree after chasing a squirrel at Wabamun Lake. 🐶🐿️

Dogs getting stuck in trees is quite rare, however, the Fire crew happily rescued the friendly pup and brought her down to safety.

Spoiler alert: the squirrel got away.

We are excited to be moving ahead with the Wabamun Waterfront Improvements! Construction will be starting on the Waterfront Park on Monday, September 30, 2024, and the park will be closed to public.

During the closure, the parking lot, pier, and boat launch (when completed) will remain accessible. Temporary washrooms will be placed in the parking lot during the first week of October. We apologize for any inconvenience.
