“Not open to traffic this year…” 😭💔
Please, if you’re able, take the detour to see us for the rest of 2026 and who knows how long into 2027 now…

Our Christmas “rush” we have been banking on is now taken from us.

We are making fresh subs and taco dips today.

Thank you to those who are supporting us and coming in through the door via the detour despite this bridge fiasco ❤️

Construction Status Update: Seal Cove Bridge

The drill rig required to complete the next phase of construction has arrived on site, and the general contractor resumed bridge piling work on Monday, October 26. Piling is a critical component of the bridge foundation and is necessary to support the new structure.

The Town continues to press the contractor for a recovery schedule. Our priority is to have the bridge safely reopened to the public as soon as possible. The Town does not yet have a confirmed reopening date. The contractor’s current schedule does not have the bridge open to traffic this year, and the Town has asked it to confirm the earliest date the bridge can open and what measures it proposes to get there.

We recognize the inconvenience and frustration this ongoing closure has caused residents and commuters. We are committed to providing accurate and reliable updates and will share a confirmed reopening timeline once the schedule has been reviewed and accepted by the project team. We understand the community wants clear answers, and we want to ensure the information we share is dependable and does not create unrealistic expectations.

We ask all residents to understand the impacts that this delay is having on local businesses such as Seal Cove Grocery, and we encourage everyone to support this long-serving business.
