Good morning, Caledonia and all of our patrons.
I'd like to start by thanking you for your patronage over the last 14 months. With any new business or project, one can only guess and predict what will work. Those predictions, estimations, and speculation don't always work. With the closing of Home Hardware and EJ's Grill, we've taken a closer look at our operational numbers, and we've come to a sobering realization.
We sell a lot of fuel, but it is just about the only thing we sell. Many of you may not know this, but we make $0.01 per litre sold. It doesn't matter how many liters we sell; it just won't cover wages and the operational bills. In-store sales are what pay the bills and keep the store operational.
We rushed to open the store as we had many delays with gas and signage. Which led to us using a similar layout to its previous operation. This layout just isn't working, and we clearly made a mistake in using it.
As for the action plan, we plan to close down for approximately 2 weeks to re-imagine the store and change the flow of traffic.
We thank you for your continued patronage, and we thank you in advance for your patience as we complete this much needed work.
Feel free to PM us with suggestions or recommendations for products and/or services missing in the community.
P.S. We have no plans of leasing out space.
Thanks,
Management
