কালশী উড়ালসেতুর নাম পরিবর্তন করে নতুন নাম রাখা হয়েছে 'শেখ তামিম মহাসড়ক'। কাতারের আমির শেখ তামিমের নামানুসারে এই নামকরণ করা হয়েছে।

কাতারের আমির শেখ তামিম বিন হামাদ আল থানি দুইদিনের সফরে সোমবার বাংলাদেশে এসেছেন। মঙ্গলবার সকালে বাংলাদেশ ও কাতারের মধ্যে পাঁচটি করে চুক্তি ও সমঝোতা স্মারক স্বাক্ষরিত হয়েছে। প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা ও শেখ তামিম দুই দেশের পক্ষে এতে সই করেন।

Kalshi Flyover has been renamed as 'Sheikh Tamim Highway'. It is named after Emir Sheikh Tamim of Qatar.

Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani arrived in Bangladesh on Monday on a two-day visit. Five agreements and memorandums of understanding were signed between Bangladesh and Qatar on Tuesday morning. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Sheikh Tamim signed it on behalf of the two countries.

মদিনা শরিফ, বায়তুল মোকাদ্দাস মসজিদ, কাবা শরিফ, মসজিদুল আল আকসার ছবি সম্বলিত জায়নামাজ আমদানি বন্ধে বাণিজ্য মন্ত্রণালয়ের কাছে করা আবেদন নিষ্পত্তির জন্য সংশ্লিষ্ট মন্ত্রণালয়কে (শিল্প মন্ত্রণালয়) নির্দেশ দিয়েছেন হাইকোর্ট।

রিটকারী পক্ষের আইনজীবী ব্যারিস্টার শেখ ওমর শরীফ বলেন, "জায়নামাজে পবিত্র কাবা শরিফ, মদিনা শরিফ ও আল আকসা মসজিদসহ অন্যান্য পবিত্র স্থানের ছবি/প্রতিকৃতি ব্যবহার করলে তা পদদলিত হয়ে ধর্মীয় অনুভূতিতে আঘাত করা হয়। তাই এই ধরনের ছবিযুক্ত জায়নামাজের বিক্রয়, আমদানি ও উৎপাদন বন্ধের নির্দেশনা চেয়ে রিট আবেদন করেন দৈনিক আল ইহসান পত্রিকার সাংবাদিক মুহম্মদ আরিফুর রহমান।"

The famous Dutch actor Donnie Roelvink embraced the Islamic faith on Friday, April 19, by reciting Shahadah.

In 2022, Donny was injured while shooting a fitness video with friends. He was run over by a Hummer. He ended up in hospital with five broken ribs and a collapsed lung. Then, he had to recover for weeks.

This same year, he was told he has testicle cancer. Because of those two incidents, he started to deepen his faith, finding Islam at last.

ফিলিস্তিনকে রাষ্ট্র হিসেবে স্বীকৃতি দিয়েছে বার্বাডোস। জাতিসংঘের ১৯৩ সদস্য দেশের মধ্যে ১৪০তম দেশ হিসেবে ফিলিস্তিনকে স্বীকৃতি দিলো বার্বাডোস। এ নিয়ে ক্যারিবিয়ান কমিউনিটির (CARICOM) ১১তম দেশ থেকে স্বীকৃতি এলো।

The Republic of Barbados has officially recognized Palestine as a state, becoming the 140th United Nations member and the 11th Caribbean Community (CARICOM) to do so.

জাতিসংঘে রাষ্ট্র হিসেবে ফিলিস্তিনের পূর্ণ সদস্যপদ পাওয়ার পথ আটকে দিয়েছে যুক্তরাষ্ট্র। বৃহস্পতিবার নিরাপত্তা পরিষদে এ–সংক্রান্ত প্রস্তাবের ওপর ভোটাভুটিতে ভেটো দিয়েছে দেশটি। নিরাপত্তা পরিষদের ১৫ সদস্যের ১২টি এ প্রস্তাবের পক্ষে ভোট দিয়েছিল। ভোটদানে বিরত ছিল যুক্তরাজ্য ও সুইজারল্যান্ড। ভেটো প্রদান করে ইসরায়েলের ঘনিষ্ঠ মিত্র যুক্তরাষ্ট্র।

The United States on Thursday blocked a United Nations Security Council resolution that would have recognised a Palestinian state. 12 members of the Security Council had voted in favor of the resolution, while two countries – the UK and Switzerland – abstained. The US vetoed it.

ব্যাংককে জাতিসংঘ সম্মেলন কেন্দ্রে অনুষ্ঠেয় ইকোনমিক অ্যান্ড সোশ্যাল কমিশন ফর এশিয়া অ্যান্ড দ্য প্যাসিফিকের (এসকাপ) ৮০তম অধিবেশনে যোগ দিতে আগামী ২৪ এপ্রিল থাইল্যান্ড সফরে যাচ্ছেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা।

এসকাপ সম্মেলনটি আগামী ২২ থেকে ২৬ এপ্রিল থাইল্যান্ডের রাজধানী ব্যাংককে অনুষ্ঠিত হবে।

'লিভারেজিং ডিজিটাল ইনোভেশন ফর সাসটেইনেবল ডেভেলপমেন্ট ইন এশিয়া অ্যান্ড দ্য প্যাসিফিক'- এই অধিবেশনের প্রতিপাদ্য।

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to depart for Bangkok, Thailand on April 24 to attend the 80th session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP).

The session, titled "Leveraging digital innovation for sustainable development in Asia and the Pacific", will be held from April 22 to 26 at the United Nations Conference Centre in Bangkok.

২০২৩ সালে যুক্তরাষ্ট্রে নিবন্ধিত আত্ম'হত্যার সংখ্যা ৫০ হাজার, যা এখন পর্যন্ত রেকর্ড করা বৃহত্তম সংখ্যা। সংখ্যার দিক থেকে দ্বিতীয় অবস্থানে ২০২২ সাল, এ বছর দেশটিতে নিবন্ধিত আত্ম'হত্যার সংখ্যা ৪৯ হাজার ৪৪৯।

বর্তমানে ৩৫ বছরের কম বয়সী আমেরিকানদের মধ্যে মৃত্যুর দ্বিতীয় প্রধান কারণ হলো আত্ম'হত্যা।

The number of registered sui'cides in the United States in 2023 is 50,000, the largest number ever recorded. The year 2022 is in the second place in terms of numbers, the number of sui'cides registered in the country this year is 49 thousand 449.

Sui'cide is currently the second leading cause of death among Americans under the age of 35.
