Retail customer service officer - casual role opportunity available

About the opportunity
As a combination of Post Office & Newsagency locates in Illawarra, we currently have a casual position to be filled.

Role Details
● This casual role commences on $32.06 / hour ($33.18 after 01/07/2025) for approx. 3 months, then increases to $34.48 / hour + 12% Superannuation. (Junior rates apply to those under 21 during training).
● Start with 2 - 3 days, and around 15-20 hrs per week. More hours will be added through the year. Possible Saturday hours in the future.

Our requirement
● Must have either Post Office, and/or Newsagency experience. Though extensive paid training is provided on commencement, we do expect the candidate to be hands-on soonest due to the current situation.
● You are a customer-oriented, enthusiastic and reliable team worker.
● Be able to work at a fast pace, while paying attention to details. Be able to manage high value transactions accurately (handling large sums of cash, cheques, credit cards and EFTPOS).
● In good health. Be fit to lift up to 20kg of mail regularly, and stand for your shift.
● Preferably living locally.

Permanent Change of Trading Hours from 1st Apr 2024

Dear customers,
Be noted that after the Easter Holiday 2024, Albion Park Rail News & Post will change its trading hours to the following.
Monday to Friday: 7am – 5pm (from 7am – 6pm)
Saturday: 7am – 12pm (unchanged)
Sunday: close (currently 7am – 12pm)

We’ve made such decision after carefully considering various factors, and getting opinions from related parties. The old trading hours haven’t been changed for decades, which don’t fit the new business environment anymore.
