Fuel Pricing Update
We've had quite a few questions about fuel pricing today, so we thought we'd explain again how we operate.
As a locally owned, independent service station, we keep things pretty simple. Every time we receive a fuel delivery, we set our price based on what that delivery has cost us. We don't change our prices every day or follow the price cycles used by the bigger retailers. Our price simply reflects the cost of the fuel that's in our tanks.
With the temporary fuel excise cut now ending, many people are expecting prices to rise straight away. Before the excise returned, we made sure our tanks were full so we could keep our prices as low as possible for as long as we could. That means we'll continue selling our current fuel at those lower costs until it's gone. Only when we receive our next delivery will the higher excise be reflected in our pricing.
Just as we couldn't lower our prices until we received lower-cost fuel during the excise cut, we won't put our prices up until we receive higher-cost fuel now that the excise has returned. We've always priced our fuel this way, and we believe it's the fairest approach.
We know we won't always be the cheapest service station every single day, but we can promise to always be fair, honest and consistent. That's how we've done business for the past 40 years, and it's how we'll continue to do business into the future.
We'd also like to ask one small favour. Please don't panic buy. Our priority is making sure everyone in our community has access to fuel when they need it. If we all buy what we need and look after one another, there'll be enough to go around. That's what makes small communities like ours so special.
Our goal has always been simple: fair prices, honest service, and looking after the community that has supported us for 40 years.
Finally, thank you. Every litre of fuel you buy, every loaf of bread, every bag of stockfeed and every purchase you make helps support a local family business, local jobs, and our community. We never take that support for granted, and we're incredibly grateful to everyone who chooses to shop locally.
