Oak plays a quiet but powerful role in winemaking.
The type of oak, how heavily it’s toasted and whether it’s new or seasoned — these choices influence everything from texture to aroma.

French oak tends to bring elegance and spice. American oak? More pronounced notes of vanilla, coconut or even char. It’s all part of the craftsmanship behind each bottle.

Wineries such as are also working with Croatian oak, prized for its fine grain, subtle spice and ability to add structure without overpowering the fruit. All contributing to a more refined, balanced style.

Oak ageing doesn’t just add flavour, it also adds stability and longevity. Through slow, controlled exposure to oxygen, the wine undergoes gentle oxidation that softens tannins and enhances complexity. It’s one of the reasons why oak aged wines continue to evolve beautifully in the bottle.
