Something we cracked this week that was really singing was this Talbot Hill Merlot from the Pyrenees. A wonderful nose, slightly ripe and green, but heavy with stewed plums, a hint of oak. The palate was exploding with spice, tertiary fruit, we’ve only got a few bottles left. $23!
