'No Ordinary Bottleshop & Bar'
Beer Venue of the Year (2022 & 2026) | Beer & Brewer Awards
Best Beer Retailer (2020, 2025 & 2026) | Beer & Brewer Awards
(673)

Carwyn Cellars is an independent family-owned bottleshop located in the northern suburbs of Melbourne. We are "no ordinary bottleshop" and engender diversity, choice, artisanship and individuality. Our philosophy flies in the face of an increasingly mono-cultured industry, dominated by a select few big brands and mega-corporations. We specialise in small boutique producers, with a good representation of local products as well as hard to find imports. Our life-blood is craft beer; stocking well in excess of 500 different beers. You will also find an impressive collection of wine, spirits and ciders; which our friendly staff are excited to tell you about. Education is another focus of ours with beer/wine tastings regularly occurring. Special events and master classes are also not to be missed!

Incredibly drinkable Euro tinnies, perfect for this fine weather!

Behold, the wall of 500ml Euro tinnies 😱

We're going hard on these Euro classic for a good reason - they're damn drinkable, often in 500ml tall tinnies, and come in at a great price! The selection importers are bringing in has grown in diversity, with a variety of regional favourites we have never had access to before! All in big cans, most around a very reasonable $7-$8 mark (plus tasty 4 pack prices), and all very consistently brewed!

Proper Irish brewed Guinness is back (be quick), and a variety of regional la**rs from Germany, Poland, Czech Republic. A few highlights include DAB Dark and Berliner Kindl which we haven’t had in store before. Plus find a restock on classic Belgian bottled treats – these are classics for a reason, and they always sell out fast!

Huge news!!!

Last night, the B**r & Brewer Awards took place at Mountain Culture Redfern as part of Sydney B**r Week. Carwyn Cellars took out two major awards and we’re still pinching ourselves. The first was the Tait Micallef Best B**r Retailer in Australia award (for the 2nd consecutive year). The second award was for B**r Venue of the Year! Wow. Voted on by industry peers, it’s massive to have both sides of the business recognized like this.

This gives us the motivation to keep pushing the boundaries in terms of our events, collaborations and offering in what has been a challenging time for the industry the last few years. Huge congrats to the other winners, especially good friend (and Carwyn alum) Kristian Martin of TWØBAYS Brewing Co who took out the Brewer of the Year!

Shout out to all out staff who help make this place what it is, and to the community for supporting us! See you for a b**r real soon 🍻

RARE ARRIVAL // Springbank

UPDATE: These sold out within an hour! If you missed out, we've got a bottle of each behind the bar, stop in for a dram 🥃

Finding even a single bottle of Springbank, let alone a lineup like this, is an event in itself! These won't last long!

Family-owned since 1828, Springbank Distillery is the last surviving operational distillery in Campbeltown that completes 100% of the production process on-site. From traditional floor malting their own barley to 100% hand-bottling on location, every single drop is crafted with wh**ky devotion.

Supply is famously tiny and demand across the globe is astronomical. It's been years since we could get in bottles of Springbank, and we're not sure when we'll next see them! If you've been eyeing off a bottle for your collection, snap one up!

Very limited stock, available instore & online now!
