💧 Tamworth, Moonbi and Kootingal Water Supply 💧

We have received reports about a change in the odour and taste to the Tamworth, Moonbi and Kootingal water supply.
This is due to us sourcing water from the Peel River which has some blue green algae in the water. The algae can cause the water to smell and taste dirty.

We are adding carbon to the water to remove this taste and odour from the supply and water should be back to normal within a few days.

PLEASE NOTE: All water supplied meets the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines and is safe to drink.

What a magnificent few Autumn days we’ve experienced of late…
We just wanted to inform you that we’ve had to make the unfortunate decision to increase the price of water deliveries as of today. Apologies, we’ve held off increasing them as long as possible, but with the rising price of diesel, we are unfortunately left with no other alternative. We hope you understand and apologise for this inconvenience.

UNSETTLED WEATHER LOOKS TO CONTINUE

A trough in the West is expected to draw in large amounts of tropical moisture. This will cause showers & storms across the entire region. Models are starting to firm, with a reasonable chance of 20-50mm on the Slopes, Upper Hunter and Ranges. Even areas of the Plains won't miss out with 10-40mm possible, from Wednesday to Saturday.

As we head onto next week there is second trough that could deliver even more Storms to the region this has increased models even further up to 100mm on the Slopes and Ranges. However this is not completely lock in as yet. We will continue to monitor models for changes.

Please also note this is not general rain but storm so totals may differ. Storms are also likely to be severe. Some areas of the mountains that receive heavy where there has been fires landslides can't be ruled out.~Dave.

ATTENTION MANILLA AND BARRABA RESIDENTS!

Manilla and Barraba will be moving to Level 4 water restrictions as of Monday 20 January.

Level 4 water restrictions mean:
✔️Cleaning of vehicle windows, windscreens, number plates and mirrors can be done for safety and regulatory purposes with buckets only.
✔️ Recycled, greywater and rainwater can be used. Rainwater tanks can only be approved by Council and a sign issued if they are stand-alone and not able to be switched to the treated supply.
❌ All residential outdoor use of treated / town / Council water is now banned.
❌ Council will cease to irrigate public parks, gardens, roundabouts and sporting facilities with treated water, but bore / groundwater can continue to be used where available.
❌ Trickle feed tanks that are connected to the town water supply for refilling cannot be used for outdoor watering.
❌ There is no irrigation of outdoor industrial and commercial green spaces.
❌ Pools cannot be filled or topped up.
