It has come to our attention that we have had a complaint regarding our prices. We were being compared to Cole’s and Woolworth’s and we wanted to address this situation. We are a convenience store meaning, we are here in the neighbour for your convenience when you don’t want to make that long trip to Cole’s or Woolworth’s and find parking for your everyday needs like milk, eggs etc… While we do try to have fair prices like Woollies and Cole’s, they are major companies who purchase items by the pallet which do in return come out to be a lot more of a discount they are purchasing it for. Often times they sell items at cost price to drive customers in the store and profit from those same customers purchasing other items. We are unable to compete with such practices as we are a very small business. There has been a lot of times where our supplier was not able to give the same items for cheaper than what Cole’s and woolies offer as we buy significantly smaller amounts. We price our items strategically by including the cost price of the items, even the cost of being able run our shop to be able to open for the convenience to the neighbourhood. Often our profit margins do not exceed $1.
